hi aussie yes u r correct that the sml engs dnt seem to c as much vibs as the 40s so u can prob hard mount ur tank without fuel foaming cox did that on 1000s of plsk models

PS. I might add that if this request had been stated using proper grammar and punctuation, then it would have been much easier to reply.<grin>

You build just fine, looks good. I have a hard time just letting things be on my builds, I constantly go back and change things, it looks like you don't have to go back at all.

Hi,

I'm starting to build this plane as my first scratch built. I have read through the whole thread and can't seem to find the answer to my question, hopefully it wasn't staring me in the face. Where the wings come together, what keeps them there? I understand the "v" center that gives it the dihedral (sp?), but I don't understand where/how it all comes together. Anyone who has made this plane or understands the process better, I welcome all help.

On another note, how do you get your cut's so precise, say, for the ribs in the wings and keep them all equal. I read the post and pictures where they were rubberbanded together and sanded equal, but what happens if they aren't exactly the same as the plan? Does it matter that much or if they are equal it still makes a symmetrical wing with the dihedral from the "v". Still cutting out my wing pieces, so will check this out periodically.

Thank you all in advance for any help and/or suggestions. This is my first scratch built (haven't done a kit yet), and loving every minute of it, just a little confused.[sm=50_50.gif]

Welcome aksydnes,

I too am going to try to build the LST. I have looked and read through this and have seen lots of good posts and pic. I am a little unsure on joining the wings. If anyone is willing to share a some details on joining the wing together we would be greatful. Also, why are there two center of gravity marks on the wing plans?

Thanks,
Mark

It has been a while since I built this nice little trainer, but if I remember correctly there is a dyhedral brace that goes in the wing and both halves are joined by a central rib. Hope this helps and enjoy this great build.

Very, very nice and quite sleek with the fuselage mods. Are you running an OS .10?

Yes Andrew, thats an OS LA.10 but i am not sure if that engin fits in this plane.. The plane should weight about 20 ounces but this one weights about 28 ounces ready to fly, it over weight for this engin i think....[&o]..

Looks great, nice job! Especially like those markings.

I think it'll handle the extra weight fine.

Thanks Bipe Flyer for the plans.

This is going to be my next project. Do you think this would make a good trainer for my nine year old?

Also do I just print the pdf plans out and tape them together?

Thanks for your hard workk.

All,

I went and purchased all the balsa stock I need for my LST. I want to do it as an electric flier. I already have all the electronics I need and plan on using it. Please check out this link and let me know if this motor will pull my LST around.

[link]http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4908&Product_Name=TR_28-26B_1350Kv_Brushless_Outrunner[/link]

Thanks again!

People are using that motor as a replacement for stock Speed 400s and claiming better performance, so it should work for the LST.

I got it done. Very easy and fun to build to take to the park. However I flew it twice and it was crazy fast and hard to control. I think the control surfaces are to small on the aileron and also I have no dihedral so that may be messing it up. Anyway i will figure it out soon.

Let me know what you think.
