Default Cox F4U Corsair ARF Kit

Hey all, I'm seriously considering purchasing one of the $20 Cox airplanes and I have a quick question about the battery situation. I'm planning (for the time being) on building it to spec with no modification, just something small that I can fly at work. I have done no electric plane building and I'm trying to figure out if I need to purchase two batteries, one for the engine and one for the reciever and servos?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Jeremiah

Hey those are fun and perfect flyers. I have the corsair. Get a castle creation thunderbird 9 then wind a 14t gobrushless motor and have fun. For battery use the etec 2s 450.

I would not recommend the Cox RTF Corsair. It is dangerously underpowered, which will probably cause you to crash. However, the Corsair kit, with a better, more powerful motor, is probably the most satisfactory way to go.

I have yet to get my stock RTF Corsair to fly. I am not knocking Cox products, but simply immforming you of my experience.

There are 5 of the $20 Cox warbirds. They also do 4 of them as ARF"s for $89.99 which includes the Radio Tx and charger that works of the cig lighter. Good deal, nothing else to buy, just a little screw driver work, then charge and fly.
I have seen the P40, P47 and the Corsair fly.
The Corsair is not as good as the others.
Another Battery is a good idea.
I converted the Hobbico Spit (Same thing) and put a TD .010 on (over powereed) a while back and it flew Ok.
The Corsair is not as good as the others. Another Battery is a good idea.
