Default Rearwin Speedster

I've always loved planes with inverted, inline engines. And this one even has ailerons. 38" span.

Or, maybe a Tiger Moth. 34" span for a TD .020.

Rainedave .... You gotta lock this thread or delete it... There are too many of us here who agree and really don't need to be reminded of these airplanes and/or see the plans for them..... We have enough/too many on our to build list as it is.

Ahhhh thats on my TBL , MVVS DFS/R-R/C 15 Diesel should move it about ok. Both the MVVS and the Cox Conquest are close copies of the Taipan 15 goldhead.

Dave,

I built the Rearwin and used a TD .049 w/ throttle sleeve = sweet flier. Need to build another sometime. I enlarged to a WS of 48".

Also flew it off water after making some 1/2A floats.

Glad I could help, Rich.

Brian, that sounds like a great 1/2A Texaco bird. Do you have any good plans for 1/2A floats?

A couple more...

Dave,

Yes, I have some 1/2A float plans. Thinking of drawing up some new ones that more like Edo floats - round vs. flat shape on the top surface.

Cheese and crackers, rog! Bring the Conquest along. Is it venturi or r/c carb? I've always wanted to put the c/l-ff version on a Goldberg Viking to bring together some of America's greatest: Carl Goldberg, Bill Atwood and Leo Cox.

rd:

I can not tell a lie I have three (count 'em) Conquests. One (near new) turns 20k with a 7-3 prop. One well used turns 24k with the 7-3 (both on 15%) and one is un-run and needs a needle vave. I'm saving them for a Goldberg FAI viking. They aren't for sale. But I understand the excitment.

HTH - Steve B.

Keep 'em coming, I dare ya...

sneez, I can email you a copy if you PM me your addy. It a pretty hot Free Flight number, though. If you're new to FF it wouldn't be the best first model. Funny about the high thrust designs, they like to fly left even though they're technically pylons. There was a period when everything was high thrust: Clem's Witch Doctor, Hanson's (sp?) T-Bird and the Goldberg Viking are three of the most famous.

I really love the looks of this plane and I will build it sooner or later. The way the TE is cut out over the cockpit is so cool. 40" span for a TD .020! A thermal catcher.

Andrew, I almost forgot to say how nice your Honker is. The airplane.

Yikes! This one is old. When's the last time the plans told you to draw hinge lines with India ink?

rd:

I'm not afraid and I'll really do it, don't come any closer. I really mean it. I've
got three Conqests and two different plans for the Goldberg Class A (FAI). If
anyone comes any closer I'll build two of these things. One to crash (maybe)
and one to fly. I'm not afraid...

I've got two sets of ribs (double the Cabin fever) cut and some patterns made.

HTH - Steve B.

Oh yeah I've escalated to a double dawg dare on the plans...
