LB2--

If you'll do a search in this forum on Galbreath and NELSON, you will find a number of threads covering the problem you're experiencing. The Galbreath/Nelson combination will usually work as well or better than the original heads. It is not available for the .09 however.

Stuart, How does performance compare with a stock Cox head? Do you eliminate the gasket to make up for compression?

I found another tricky-looking Cox head from him.

Hope he decides to come up with Norvel .061 & .074 and also MP-Jets .061 conversion turbo heads.

It's possible that you have picked up some Medallion heads for your TDs. I noticed the same thing when I bought a head for my TD .09. It was down on power and would not peak at the same revs as before. Not sure wha to do about it. The original head is still going strong (i only bought the extra head as a spare) so I'll probably just run it until it blows then look at an aftermarket head that takes a nelson or turbo plug.

Dan, his head that takes the turbo plug perfoms ok , the one you posted takes a standard glow plug and will be down on power but probably like a babybee or medalion head.
The Cox 049 heads and turbo plug heads or the Galbrith/ nelson plug combos all fit the Norvel 049/061 motors.

Stuart,

I also liked the threaded conversion prop shaft. Oh how I hate prop screws.

Too bad they don't make their kit available with the turbo plug.

Another thought is why not anodize the head and spinner nut gold so it would match the colors of the Cox TD. Blue looks kinda wierd.

One of the heads i bought was from Jon-Valentines-Cox uses a standard glow plug yes the power is very low the .09 HEAD was from over seas AU never had a name to know who made the head but looks like the Jon-Valentines head lost 50% of its power will test the engines today to see how much of a loss
