The best strategy for training with any RC flying is to find a club and go visit.
With gliders, that isn't as easy as it is for power or choppers. Check at the closest hobby shop etc.
Just finding a good site can be daunting too. For hi-start you need a clear, flat area much larger than your hi-start.
