I was interested in this model and while the transparent covering looks very nice on the model it makes it very hard to see in the air! If it were a different color I would have bought one by now!

I like it. There are a few things on that plane that should make it fly REALLY well.

Swept leading edge with tapered tips, the long tail, the huge elevator....all that equals a plane that should track really well....like pattern airplane kind of tracking.

Judging by its looks, the ailerons are going to be SUPER fast. First flight, use low-rates. 1/2" travel past neutral should be enough to get some good roll rates...run it up to 1" travel....Ill bet it rolls so fast it twists the tail.

Even though the elevator is large, I think its gonna be just about right. If you slow it down in a harrier...I have a feeling you'll be all over it, probably going to get real sensitive at slow high alpha flight.

They have the elevator and rudder servos in the back, which means you are going to need extension cables to reach them, its also going to be fun trying to "fish" those cables to the reciever. BE VERY careful when you mount the servos in the back. Most of these types of planes have really light balsa back there, and if you apply too much pressure its easy to break the balsa where the servo mounts.

The nose is kinda short, I dont know where they tell you to mount the battery, but I have a feeling your going to have to mount it REALLY far forward to get the CG in the right place.

Even though its really big, having transparent covering can cause you some problems in the air if you dont have identifying graphics to tell you which is top and which is bottom. Get it downwind, with the sun shining through the wings while your starting a turn..you'll quickly wish you had put some stripes on it to identify top and bottom.
I just use white stick-on monokote. Cut some squares, and put a checkerboard pattern on the bottom of the wing. The white reflects really well, so you can see it.


Looks like it would be a fun plane to fly.

bdavison thanks for your intrest, and reply iv only been flying for about 12 months,6 months in small 3d stuff im flying the eflight yak 54 at the moment, and loving it so ithink this will be a good plane for me in a nother month or so. This arrow runs a spit elervator with two sevos can it be joined and only one servo or is this a bad move thanks

Considering its a 51" wingspan plane....stick with two elevator servos. One may not have enough torque...especially with that large an elevator, unless your using a large servo, but that might weigh too much. What servos are they recommending?


When ya get it built and flying...post some vids. Id like to see that thing fly.
