Default what's a good first 3d foamy?

I am looking for a good foamy for learning 3d that I can get everything I need, minus transmitter, all together. I will be flying outside. Something as stable as I can get in hover and harriers. I have searched the web and am looking to some members for their opinion. Thanks in advance for any response.

You can try DW Foamies. I absolutely love those planes. Mike even sells a motor/ESC/Servo combo. All you need is a 1320 mah 3 cell lipo battery, (I think a 10x4.7 prop), your four channel radio, and 4+ channel receiver.

g-day
if you have never flown befour you should not start on a 3d plane start on a hobby zone super cub
if you have flown and want to get into 3d i would get a typhoon 2 3d it is foam and very easy to fix if you crash it and spare parts are very easy to get.
good luck

I've been flying planes and helis for 6 yrs. I do some hovering on a profile plane but want something I don't have to worry as much about and do things lower.

Try the [link=http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=390003]Nasty[/link], its a great 3D trainer that takes a beating and keeps on flying, it has taught me many things. keep it light and it will float like a blimp. Ive also heard great things about the [link=http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=373243]3D Batix Extra 330[/link], so good infact Im gonna build one myself. I'll run mine off a [link=http://www.wattsuprc.com.au/product_detail.asp?pid=EW-M002]160 watt outrunner[/link], but it will fly well of an even cheaper 350 brushed motor. Have a read of the threads, you may like what you see, and there's a ton of info there.

Hope this is of help

Yes 3D Batix's are nice planes if you like to build your own I have the Diablo and love it. You can also try any of the AirfoilZ if you are looking for ARF.

Here is the site:

There are quite a few good ones out there, I've a Blast but think it's called A Flash or ther Super Zoom is very similar, I selected the wrong model once and the elevator was reversed, hand launched and as it picked upo speed I pulled up which sent it straing into the ground, just glued the bits back together and flew again !!!!!
I've also a Multiplex Acromaster, their products are excellent quality, I'd have a serious look at their ParkMaster which is due out any time now http://airtoimedia.nl/web/upload/Jur...Master2008.wmv if it's half as good as their other stuff should be prerrt good !!!!!!!!

The Flash is a great flying plane, and it's EPP foam, so it can take a beating.....

Anything made of EPP, like a Super Zoom 4D from Hobby Lobby, will take a beating and come back for more. Fly it into a shed, no problem. Fly it into a light pole, no problem. Land it on a buisy highway, umm, let's not go there .
