Default Seagull Harrier 3D 46 or GP U-Can-Do 3D 46?

Just trying to compare the two. Both very similar price point, both talked about alot on these and other forums. Which would you go for? The Harrier has the 2 piece wing which I like the idea of to make it ultra compact for transporting.

Only seen pictures of the Seagull 46 here. I haven't heard of any availability here in the states yet so I'll have to vote for the UCD.

I have the Harrier 90 and the UCD 46, The quality of the Harrier is so superior there is no comparison. I have yet to fly the Harrier due to the weather and work comittments. I really like the UCD's flight charicteristics, but dislike the fuel tank location, flimsy landing gear set-up and circus like appearance(needs a clown pilot).
If the Harrier flys as good as it looks it will sell very well indeed.........

I also have recently acquired both - just finished the 46 and fitted an ASP 61 FS. Great flier, if a little underpowered; it's very good for the low-level rolling manouvres and harriers with that engine, which seems to allow good control. Still hovers well. However, I've just got a J'EN 56 to install - that should liven things up a bit...

I have an MVVS 91 with 16 x 4 wide blade in the 90 version. It's a superb flier - cannot fault it (only just finished - one day's flying). In fact it's probably the best flying RC model I've ever flown; and I've flown a few in twenty five years...

The tail rigging is a pain to wire up, but looks really good. Trouble is, everyone who has a look wants to twang it!

Bodge,

Where did you get your control linkages from? I have a Harrier .90 and i'd like a setup similar to yours...i'll also be putting a Y.S. 1.10 on it with Hitec 645's

Yeah, the existing control linkages let the side down in what is otherwise good quality. Mine came from Pete Tindals - http://www.petetindal.co.uk/ - They do lots of good stuff; check out the web site.

Just started assembling Harrier 46, wonderful quality, but undecided about engine choice.

I recently bought a 46 Harrier. Is the YS 63 four stroke enough or would the Saito 72 give me more power. I'm at 4700 feet elevation

Delano...
Hi, this is Barry. How ya been. Haven't seen you at the field for a while.

Anyways, I think you'll be disappointed with the 72 in this bird. You want the 82. You'll be glad for the extra power. You really will.

ndaklic...

It is obvious you haven't flown the UCD 46. I've had both and think the UCD is more fun to fly and much easier to see. But, we clearly can know your opinion of the UCD.

Thanks
Barry

I have a UCD 46 and had the big Harrier until some fool turned on his radio. I was relieved to get rid of the HARRIER (TRUCK). I have issues with the UCD such as weak landing gearand fuel tank location but not the way it flys.
The Harrier was repairable but I gave it away.

I have / had both. I had the U-Can-Do 46 first. Not bad but more like a trainer. I lost it due to the Sun being in the wrong place. By the time I saw the plane again it was about 6 feet from the ground going straight in. I replaced this with the Harrier 46 and used the engine I had in the U-Can-Do. It has an OS 50SX. I first had the Harrier on the tail heavy side. Was a knee knocking first flight. I think the Harrier will stand up to more than the U-Can-Do. I also like the two piece wing design with the Harrier.

No doubt the Harrier is much better in the build dept and the 46 size might be more to my liking. the 60 size was not, had a 108 in it.
My UCD 46 is three and showing it's age, have a ST 90 on it which works very well, just a fun relaxing plane, I once had it too tail heavy, sure would hover and my heart must be OK?
