I was only the 39th person from FLA to send this in!

THAT IS HORRIBLE!!!!!

There are 2000+ registered flyers at my field alone! ONE FIELD......

Let's start getting the word out here people!!!!!!!!!

Print flyers, to drop off at your local hobby store, mine are in the works!

I am calling all three of these offices tomorrow!

Let's get going here, the hobby you save may be your own!
What's the name of the club that you say has 2000+ registered flyers?

Another way is to call and get meetings with the Congress-critters local staff. This is much easier than going through the DC stuff. One thing you may want to mention is that this issue makes a perfect "talking" point about reduction of government regulations and unnecessary intrusions into the private lives of the American people.

It's not really a "Club" that has 2000+ flyers. It's a field.....It's called Markham Park....and it's a county park with a 66 acre flying site, and actually 2 or 3 clubs call it home.....

Primarily the Markham Park Pilot Association

http://www.mppaonline.net

You do NOT have to be a member to fly there, only have an AMA and sign up agreeing to the field rules, etc....then you get an approved flyer badge (And a number) and we average about 2000 registered pilots each year....many part timers of course....

The club has about 150 folks last I heard

We I have started posting these "Flyers" at local fields and R/C hobby shops.......

My campaing will continue thru the weekend and I have spent $40 making color copies, so I have pleanty to go around, and will take them to the fields and hobby stores and try to get in a few flights as well this wekeend......

Please let me know if you see any value in these and / or are distributing these in your area?

I think we can reach many modelers who may not hang on RCU or know things are going on.......

Tom Great work on the flyer!
I am printing some out now...

edit to add:
These need to be posted at more than just flying fields.
With the AMA only having 140,000 members we are going to need more numbers.
I would suggest that the flyers are posted at workplaces, restaurants, stores and/or at any place that has a "community bulletin board" that they let you put up flyers, notices and alike.

Yup, I agree 100% and tomorrow I should have some time to revise it, as the AMA has changed the site a bit and the URL is a mile long and UGLY as sin! [:@]

I called the AMA and told them, we needed two things right away:

1 - A state by state count on the web site, so we know where we need to apply preasure.....since each state has some many reps, who vote on this, etc.... A state with only 12 letters is not even on the radar of that rep.....so they are working on the state numbers showing up as well as the total letters....

2 - a shorter URL, and the next flyer tomorrow will direct folks "Clcik by Click" to get to the point where you enter your zip code, and send the letters......but time is short and this one was a good start.....

THANKS for all your help!!!!! Together we will win this!!!!

p.s. - Some day when things cool down I need to PM you and ask about that Fat Albert in your avitar

Tom just a quick note you still mention the tear off URL in on the poster you may want to change that or better yet add it as a tear off.
Some may have a hard time remembering even that short one, plus it would be better that they have something they can hold before them as they type it in.

Another avenue we should keep in mind is the local news media - radio, TV and newspaper all have their devotees. Spreading the word is the only way to make those outside our admittedly niche hobby aware of what's going on.

Good point.....I will change this around ASAP to add the tear offs back with the shorter URL, been slamed at work and in the main thread on this topic, as well as trying to get to FL jets.....
