You know this was a commie country at one time.LOL.then Seward snacked it up for 15mill...whata deal ....Their still pissed about that....HAHAHAHA sucker's....enough of that...If I remember machine shop class if you want the fractional equiv divide by. 03937 and if you want to convert mm to fractional it's x .03937 or something like that....I was just reading from the spec's....Please father don't forsake me for the metric spec's....Also because of my inaccurate info I must add that the info is subject to change when I'ma wrong....JW

For those who read this and want to swap your Os91fs for a YS110fz I must let you know that I moved the engine forward from 5 and 7/8" to 6and 1/8" from the firewall to the prop washer when I built the plane, because the cowling didn't line up........JW
ORIGINAL: autoguns

The ys 110fz is the ticket for this plane , it will drop right in the same mount as the os 91 fs ....I paid more for mine because I had to be the 1st to have one in Alaska....BWHAHAHAHAHAHA....Iv'e heard that chief has them for 330.00 or so ..I'm swinging a APC 16x6 wide chord prop, it turns it with no problem, it could probably turn a bigger prop but you my have to put larger tire's on it for more ground clearance, I would also use the sullivan tail wheel assembly Not he POS that comes with the plane...I used a GP 1/4 scale tail wheel assembly that work's great but the throw's are not max because of the steering arm, the sullivan should allow you to max out the throw's with no binding.....I wish I would have looked at this site before I put mine together .....It would have been built different/better....I do have a spare that IS going to have all the mod's from day 1.....as far as cata,,,cata ....okay crashing , just remember they all have that dam exploration date inside .... Oya on THE DARK SIDE......JW
ORIGINAL: lord lucan

Fogive me father for i ( Tis my birthday today....hence i'm alowed to do anything my little heart desires...fat chance..! ) am about to sin...How much was a YS 1.10.....?...it'l just ..'drop straight in'...i dont HAVE to use full throttle....you lot are becoming a bad influence, i'm going over to the dark side..! Dave.

J-Dubya, I guess every little trick in asthetics is needed for a plane this ugly. I'm burying mine right to the firewall. That additional weight of the 110 is exagerated as it moves forward. Hang the blue line, I will concentrate on balance. Joe
I seem to have quoted myself quoting autoguns. I'm trapped in a time warp!

Gents ..
I may have been sufficiently sneeky to get away with it...YS $359.ish ,couple of wing tote bags ($37) to hide those bloody great UCD wings in.. see a wing bag is a wing bag..she cant see whats in it ..! the P51 'stripey' wings are a familiar sight in the house...but if she see's these check chappies.... ( checks Vs stipes...these differences appear on frocks n' things..) one thousand questions will ensue.. ( shes dont know about the UCD yet... thought i'd keep that under wraps till i'd finishe d the GP Extra..) two hydrimax batt packs, half dozen zingers.. Oh.. O.S. tuned pipe set $150 ish?... but..thats out of stock till end of Feb, so shouldnt impact on the plastic till next month..by which time i'll be dead anyway ,so none of this really matters ..! Tower.
Thing is the exchange rate is sooooo good at the moment..e.g the best i could get.. say an O.S. .91FS P for here would be bout.. £240..£250...christ thats somewhere like $450.. $470..Tower rice..$329 ..? sadly Tower cant ship many kits..to big.... an ARTF's are a non starter...
Anyways... Joe have a look on 'carboncopyuk' for capeche details ..i'll go into that more later ... try to fin ya a direct link. i'll take her coffee and buicuits now ..and generally 'creep' ..!

Congrats Lord........I had mine out at the field today and had a blast. A friend of mine also has one and we were flying in formation and just having plain ole fun. I am beginning to get the feel for this one. Even though I am using the 91 Surpass I am still pretty impressed with the verticle. Knife edge is a bit tricky. I took a few photos of my frined flying his. Didn't get any shots of mine. I was having fun with the new Canon Rebel digital camera my family gave me for my b-day inbetween flights. Thought I was getting a 9-C, but guess the Super 8 will have to last a while longer. Here are the first batch of pics. I took with it. 480 mm telephoto.

Kro, your right on the pushrods. As far as the landing gear goes I'm building #5 and all have flown stock landing gear without a loss. The gear can be knocked of any model. The breakaway block keeps you from destroying the fuse. By all means check them but, with the small amount of planes that have lost them its not an issue. Joe

Ain't nobody messn' with Alaska! Okay back to business. After wasteing about a month and a half, I'm finally getting busy with this UCD. All the others I used the GP hinges that came with them. Never had a problem, in fact about the only thing that held the wing remains together were the CA hinges. Since this is the one that I want to do all the tricks I learned on the other ones I decided to go with the pinned hinges from Dubro. First time user and I'm impressed. They went pretty well considering the use of 30 min. epoxy. Lots of time to clean up and once you put the control surfaces on you can move them into position and the barrels leave a nice even gap. Talk about flip/flop factor, these things are smooth. I get them flappin' with those digi's and I may not need an engine. This one isn't getting the cowl until I am happy with the thrust angle, right thrust and up or down thrust, we'll see what it takes. Too bad somebody dosn't make a rear exhaust 4 stroke, it would be perfect on the UCD. Joe

When I grow up I want to be just like you ....I have a spare UCD3D just sittin there doing nothing... So I had better get it out and get started ..I want to skin the plane and make new trim sceam while the monocoat is off I plan on beefing it up every were I can.... I plan on using robart pin hinges as well so keep me posted on how you like them ...I also thought about sheeting the control surfaces to make them ridged ...I like the pull pull set-up you did on your's... that's a must...I'm using a Sullivan tail wheel spring assembly so I can get max throw's....I have a long list of mod's that I plan on incorporating into the new one .....To many plane's So little time.....JW

On this one the pull/pull rudder servo is now further back. On exploring the remains of one of the less fortunate ones, I cut around to see just how far back it will go without cutting into the square stock in the corners or hitting a former. Its now just below the rearward elv. servo hatch. Gonna need the tailweight with the 110. Joe

10 1/8" back of fuse to center of servo hatch. This will leave 1/4" from the former so you can glue 1/4" X 1/4" stock inside for the servo mounting screws. Joe
