RE: CMPro/Chief/GSP 72.5 Extra 300s Build thread
Looking nice
Well got mine back down the strip today after my repairs. All went well and it flew just as well as before, some re trimming but apart from that it was good to fly again. My BCM pitts exhaust was a bit barky as the pipes got slightly bent and pulled out after the mishap last week [] Should of had a new one by now but Just Engines decided to send me the wrong one [>:]
Some points to note that I have found along the way. Firstly she is a heavy ol' girl so try and keep the weight down as much as possible. Weighed mine today and she was tipping the scales at 12lbs. More importantly though is the covering on the wings. First couple of flights and the red covering was coming off So I have now run fuel proof across all of the joins off the covering. Also the CofG seems fairly 'safe'. I have been moving mine back slowly using the invert as a guage. Not sure how far back it is but I removed 20g from the front and it was still needing a bit of down in the invert.
Lastly the standard wheels are very bouncy. Unless you touch down very very lightly the model can be back up in air very quickly
On the whole I have enjoyed the model so far, can't wait for more stick time

hey guys just got this beauty today. its seems ot be in very good condition and the covering is perfect not a wrinkle in sight, also the covering isnt see thru at all. Planning on powering her with either a saito 150 or 180 tho prollu 180 seeing as its only an extra 30grams. Hopefully will get a smoke system as well. I was wondering if u could use the ailerons as flaps for landing to kill some speed off and give some more lift? thanks

Hi Jarrah,
Congratulation to your choice! This is a really nice good performing ship.Last year I sold mine, but since then I really miss it.I"m flirting with the idea of buying one again. This time I "d power it with a 1.80 gas Airworld/Moki/One thing, What"s the point in using the ailerons as flaps? You can really slow down the plane without flaperons as well. You"ve nice weather Down under,so build it fast, and you could fly it in no time. You will love it.
Good Luck to your Extra.

Hi Folks,
I've bought my 2nd CMPRO Extra 72.5 2 weeks ago. It"s already beeing build.I still like this plane, this was a mistake to sold my 1st last year. Some people say,it"s a hard to fly plane.QUITE on the contrary,it"s a well behaved ship, easy to fly, precise ,able to slow done at landings no surprises at all. What else would you ask for this money? Will fly on gas/Moki180/servos Hs 425 deluxe,6V receiver akku.18x8-20x8 Metts prop.RTF in 3 weeks.More info.after I maiden it.
