Here are a few images, if I get the code right.
Just finished re-positioning the engine mounts to accept my Super Tiger .75 with pitts muffler.
I found a panel in the nose that needs re-gluing. (Loose)
I noticed that the mounting block for the main gear is held in with hot glue.
A friend of mine had his main gear snap off on his UCan Do ARF. Same type of glue.
Will be inspecting very closely!!
I am still happy with the quality of the kit.

For the Saito 125, which spinner do you recommend me?. I'm thinking on using a 16x5 propeller.

Thanks

It really depends on the way you want to fly. For normal flying use the 16 X 5, if you want excellent 3D performance use a 17 X 4. It should hang in the air nicely.

Hello guy's, I want to thank all of you for the help in setting up this beautiful blue and white bird especially from atmycabin as he is flying at high altitude in Los Alamos NM, 6500 feet altitude, I am in Roswell NM, 3700 feet altitude almost half as Los Alamos and he is not expieriencing any bad habits from his extra 330s, I have a hobbico sukhoi and if there isn't some kind of a headbreeze it will tipstall for sure unless you come in hot, I like landings at a reasonable speed and this Phoenix extra sounds like the icing on the cake and I can't wait till mine shows up and when that happens my sukhoi will be out the door and I don't care if the door hits it on the way out either LOL. Thanks again guy's, happy landings and best wishes with all your airplanes, especially the Phoenix extra 330s.....Greengoose.........

Do you think a G20 would fit in the cowl of the plane? I am wondering if it will fit. It should have plenty of power.

I wouldn't go bigger than a 90 or 91 in a two stroke engine because the g20 or 2300 is way too heavy and powerful for this airplane, you would have to add alot of tailweight to the plane and after that it would have the wing loading of a sidewinder missile, you would need to fly it extremely fast and not pull too much up elevator because it would snaproll into a deathspin right into the ground, also the g20 or g2300 would need a big gas tank (24oz. minimum) which would insanely mess with your cg once filled with fuel in a plane this size, I am for sure this plane would be a suicide machine with this engine for sure, it's like putting a 90 on a 15 size plane, maybe it would even tourque roll right into the ground once it lifted off , If you want unlimited power with this particular airplane get you a super tigre 90 or os 91 for good results, or if you wanted a 4 stroke go with the forums and read about which engine would be suitable for this plane....

Today received mine! Nice and clean job for arf and cheap. Im looking to put SC91 four stroke on it.
I think its the same with OS. What is your opinion? I want to make it for 3d.
And second how about stock carbon linkages? Is strong with CA or is better to replace with stainless?

Thanks

Bill

.91 4stroke should be good with a 15x6 prop. The stock carbon fiber linkages are holding good with my plane, it should be good for you also, as soon as the glue dry it's there for good.

Keep us inform of you progress with some pics. Nice plane for the price!

Just picked up one of these and plan to use a ST 90 with Pitts, mounted at 90 degrees. There's one question I haven't seen asked: What about the elevator servos and the differeing heights relative to the H-stab? It seems the different angle of the servo arms/pushrods (to account for the different height) would lead to some difference in movement between the two elevator halves. Has anyone encountered or thought about this?

Do not worry about this. Just make sure that the servo is centered when you cut the carbo fiber rod, then make sure the controls are exactly perpendicular to the servo head and the stab surface.

HI there, I just did the maiden on my 330s today and was very pleased with the results. After reading this page I was a little afraid I had missed figured my power to rate ratio by putting a tower hobbies .61 engine on it but found that it performes extremely well. It will pull straight up and go out of site. It does all of the pattern manuvers at half throttle. I see no need for any more engine. I am using a 11X8 prop but plan on going to a 12X6 next time out. Using a smaller engine kept my weight down to 7.6 lbs. This is one great flyer that will scream at full throttle and slow to a crawl beautifully with no stalls. In my opinion a .75 is more that enough engine unless you want to do 3d. happy flying

Well, after considering the Seagull Yak, and the Goldberg 67" Edge 540, I've purchased the Phoenix 330S. All things considered, this one is a better fit for my Super Tigre .90 than either of the other two would have been. This model has the pull-pull rudder and I've never had one before. Is there anything I need to know about this? I have a Futaba S3010 high torque servo and a long 1 3/4" servo arm. I can't wait to fly this one!

TowerHobbies is packing this order up as I type!

IMHO go with the 120 Ax it just rocks. I feel mine a little underpowerd with a 15X4 with a new 91fx. it pulls out of a hover barely.

Saw my friend Sawan put a 120Ax on his WM extra 330 and it rocks.

Only issue I have with that is the additional $264.00 for the engine. And since I'm not a 3D pilot I'll likely be just fine. I am eagerly anticipating the arrival! I'm just finishing up on my kit built Somethin' Extra. So this month will see 2 maiden flights for me. I can't wait!

WOW - I just pick up one of these kits yesterday and I'm impressed. This is the nicest ARF I've seen (and one of the cheapest). The finish of the kit is exceptional. I have never seen such a comprehensive instruction manual - in colour as well. I plan to fit an ASP 120FS in mine which is a left over from my recently written off CMP 300s. I will change the engine mount to fit the ASP at 90 degrees and by looking at the firewall I assume that the right thrust is already built in and you just need to add down thrust - is that correct.
My only disappointment so far is the fuel tank - what's with the size of it? - never seen one so small.

Ya Bjor,
The fuel tank is small i changed mine to a 14 oz MK fuel tank fits real good.
Its not possible to fit in a gp or dubro in it.

I bought a Sullivan 16oz (flexible) and it fits perfectly. Even the Dubro 14oz fits.

Hey guys,

I just ordered my 330 and I was thinking os putting my th.75 on it. I just want to know if anyone here was able to install that engine on the default position 270 and fly it with out any dead stick. I do not care about the hovering. I will just be flying arround for now.

Thank you [8D]

Flys great with TH-75 in the recommended position (i.e. per manual). See post #8 on first page of this thread. You will not even have to mess with the cowling except for glow plug access.

atmycabin thank you for your answer. Do you have the one with the pull pull for the ruder or do you have the servo at the tail? Also how is the CG? Do you have it at the default location? did you have to add weigth anywhere?

Thank you in advanced.

I left everything according to manual (servo set-up, CG, throws, rates). Just be creative with the battery location when balancing. This bird will maiden just fine if you follow the instructions.
