Default NEW Top-Flite GE Cessna 182 ARF

Hey, I was just looking at my new Fly-RC mag this afternoon and there is a Top-Flite ad for their new Cessna 182 Gold Edition arf.
It looks really good from the pic in the magizine. I was wondering when they were going to do this. I bet the Piper Arrow and Beech Bonanza are not too far behind either. Hope so anyway. I can not find any pics on the web yet, otherwise I would post one here.
She is very scale as well from what I can see in the pic. I guess my H-9 182 is going to have a smaller brother now.

I just thumbed through my May 2009 flyrc and can't find the add. I found one for the Hobbico Cessna. So, what edition is it in and what page?

Thanks

The April 2009 Edition of Model Aviation does list the
Top Flite Cessna 182 Arf on page 94.
The fine print at the bottom says to go to

www.top-flite.com/85A

when you do that it states:

"Looking for the Top Flite Cessna 182 ARF? We're sorry, but information is currently unavailable on our website. After our magazine ads went to print, we encountered a minor production delay with the plane.

Please check back at the end of April or early May. Thank you."

So, question answered! LOL

It is in the New June edition. It has the new Top-Flite T-6 on the cover. The 182 ad is on the very first page as soon as you open the magazine. One thing I will say is that I am so glad that TF changed the covering scheme from the origional red, black and white scheme to a newer style scale Cessna scheme. Has anyone beside me noticed that since TF first came out with the Cessna KIT back in 1993 that every freaking Cessna arf that has come out since then has had the same origional TF red, white and black scheme. I love Cessna's, I even took my full scale lessons in Cessna's, but every time I see that red, white and black scheme it makes me want to projectile vomit across the room. Come on mfg's, are you so scared to find your own full scale scheme? Are you afraid your arf's will not sell unless you copy TF's scheme? OK, I am now done.

Mounted on its side, you will have to cut a relief to clear the complete rocker cover and approx 3/16-1/4" of the very top of the jug.

hmm. Sounds good. I do likes the looks of the Topflite in cowel two stroke muffler, but i think the sound of the four stroke out weighs this scale apperance. Also i'm not that into scale so having the top of the motor stick out is not a problem for me. I have a t-craft 20 with a 30 surpass four stroke and it mountend down and to the left with makes the muffler compleatly hidden. Again all that is sticking out is the rocker cover. What a great little airplane that is. Any way. I wonder if the cockpit kit will be updated to have G1000's instead of 6 packs. I'm work as a pilot for a living and your are seeing less and less six packs and more glass panals. Wonder if the modeling world will catch on to that. At our flight school we fly Diamond DA-20's DA=40's and DA-42 twinstars and i would love to build a model of one. It would be a challange to do it out of balsa. THe fuse would have to be fiberglass. I love the new trim sceam on the 182 though. much better than the red, white, and black.

I wonder if the new ARF's cowl is a more modern 182 full scale style. Yes, thank someone they didn't come out with that tired red/white scheme!!!

Gary, From what I can tell from the pictures the cowl looks to be of the older style. Looks identical to the cowl that comes with the kit. The inlets on the cowl are the older wide type. The newer cowls that Cessna makes for their singles have inlets that Cessna calls
"bowtie inlets". They are more rounded and taper in tighter towards the spinner. The H9 182 ARF has the newer type inlets on their cowl.

Just got my June issue of FLY RC and it's on the 1st page inside the cover. Looks great. The Top Flite site shows functional landing lights and beacon !! Going to Toledo this weekend so hope they have one there. If so, I'll get some pics.

Just got back from Toledo and they had it there. The Top Flite guy said it will be released end of April. I want to believe him but have a feeling it will be delayed. Plane is real nice. Landing, wing tip and beacon lights.

P47,

Thanks for the post. It sure looks nice. I am glad they have wingtip lights as well. I do hope it sells for something less than the rumored $399. I might just have to place one on backorder with Tower as soon as it's listed there - depending on the actual price.

$399 seems right which is the same as the 310 twin. If the plane is as good as it looks, I think it's worth $399.

I just saw it listed on Tower - $399. I can get $60 off that price right now as a SS Club member. Decisons, decisions Do you think it is as nice as the 310? That plane looks awesome.

I would order one. Can't go wrong with Top Flite plus with the $60 off coupon to me a no brainer. I might get one myself. I fly all warbirds but this would make a nice addition.

I can't find it on Tower. How did you? Look at Top Flite website below, they have a good video of it.

Ok, found it on Tower. Wasn't listed under Top Flite in the manufacturer list but found it under "new products just announced". Here's the link. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LNVZB0&P=G

I have the $60 off coupon also. Makes this real tempting.

I've ordered one through my LHS. Just spoke w/ him and he said they're (still) showing 5/1 as a ship date.
This one looks real good and if it's as good an ARF as the Top Flite Staggerwing it's gonna be another winner.
