DYI Voltage Regulator
Does anyone have a goode DYI voltage reg thst will handle 7.4 volts in and output 6 or 5 volts? If so can you share the schmatic and parts list?
I can buy the MPI for $20 but I like to built things like this.
Thanks

There are a few additional details to consider.
Current capacity, both continuous and peak.
Switching regulators are more efficient, but more complex that an analog regulator.
If the regulation does not need to be particularly precise, and low current is involved,
simple three terminal regulator IC's with a few external components may be adequate.
There are a fair number of out there, and the data sheets generally
give enough information to design simple ones.
Having said that, I could not build a switching regulator for the price of the ones listed below.
Besides that, there is a 6A version that I typically use by default.

There used to be several electronics surplus suppliers in the St. Louis area. I don't know if they are still there.
