How long does it take?
To get an AMA buddy box? I've been a member for a while now, but i just signed my wife up under my membership this year (she's going to start flying). With her membership, I paid the extra 8 bucks for the radio (Shipping and Handeling). I got the membership cards 3 weeks ago, but no buddy box. How long does it take to get it (from those of you who've received it before).
Thanks
Thanks

2slow2matter,
Unfortunately the AMA had a great idea, but they totally blew it trying to put it into practice. They are saying 10-12 weeks to ship out buddy boxes. I haven't seen very many students that are willing to wait 3 months before they start training to fly.

To the beginner student that is ready to fly this is fairly worthless. Only thing they can do is have it around when they start training their grand-children with a schedule like that.[:@]

The AMA has provided reliable, affordable insurance for quite sometime now and it is very dependable and thank God they still do.

Coming up on 4 months now for my buddy box. sent them an e-mail, no reply. I wonder if the insurance goes along the same lines also?

RE: How long does it take?
Thanks for the replies. I figured for 7 bucks S/H I might as well throw it in. I'm in no hurry. I use either my DX7 or 7202 for a buddy box (depending upon which one is the master), but I thought it might be nice to have one around that was just a buddy box. I also have an old Quattro Pro 4 channel that I took the crystal out of, and it works nice as well. Guess I should have just bought a 6 pack with that 7 bucks. Probably would have enjoyed it more.............

Any radio of the same brand can be made into a buddy box BTW. Find someone who's got their wings and see if they've got one to sell you.
