Installing hinges
I need a little help here. I have a 4* I'm ready to install the ca hinges.
The hinges are rectangle shaped 1 X 3/4 inch with a slit running 3/4 of the 1 inch length in the center. Which way do I put them in?
They will go in both ways when I pulled the Aileron off per instructions they were in about 1/2 on each side.

RE: Installing hinges
Push one of the shortest edges into the aileron, put a pin through the hinge so it can't be pushed further in, then repeat till the aileron's got all it's hinges in place, then push them into the wing. Then use thin CA (not medium or thick) to glue them in place, removing the pins when the CA's set. The glue will absorb into the hinge and run up into the wing/aileron. The slit in the centre is to give the glue a channel to run up to give better penetration.

The slots line up perpendicular to the seam (See pic)

RE: Installing hinges
Hey MinnFlyerI put my slots the other way, of course my ailerons are on the LE. Does that make a difference. Hummm!!! maybe that's way I have a hard time controlling my plane in flight. Oh well, it's only money. Will be at Toledo Fri and Sat. Maybe be can meet someplace.

RE: Installing hinges
was only kidding on the placement of the ailerons. Sometimes I fly like they are in front. I could fly the moto-cross events. Straight and level, well that's another story.
