Problem with Rimfire 28-30-950
Hi everyone,
Has anyone had one of this motor come apart on them??? I just finished building the Great Planes DR-1 park flyer with the recommended Rimfire motor. When I did the first bench test to get some watt and amp numbers the bell housing of the motor separated from the motor at a high rate of speed destroying the front of my new plane in the process.
I plan to contact Great Planes soon to see if they can help me.
I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else...

Read this about the rimfire.

I personnally have one but it is not the same model as in the DR-1. Didn't fly it yet but on the bench there was no problem. I made small modifications though. Mr Matison has a very special tread about this motor. I don't agree with all it is said there but hey, this is open ground for discussion !

Here was my bright idea - don't know if it works yet, but it should:
