Himax2850-850 max RPM??
I wonder how much this motor is supposed to turn? It says 850 rpm per volt. With a 10-4.7 it tachs about 7000 pulling 115 watts, on a freshly charged 11.1, 1320ma battery. Is this about right or should it turn 8500 rpm at 160 watts? I'm curious at how the derive the 850 per volt figure. Is it with out a load, or do they use a very small test load? Thanks for any help on this matter.

I am guessing this is the motor you are talking about - the HC2812-850, not the 2850-850, I don't think they manuf. a 2850-850?
The max. RPM rating is 20,000 on the 2812-850. Generally their max. number is figured with no load.

RE: Himax2850-850 max RPM??
Kv is derived under no-load conditions. At 10v that motor should, ideally, spin at 8500rpm (actually a bit less since there is already some electrical and mechanical resistance to be taken into account). With a small prop you might get as much as 80% of the Kv x V as rpm... but with larger props you may only see 60-70% of the "ideal" number.
