Genesis LE Bashing
Yeah I finally got some new wheel axles and went out across the street to a massive construction site. It was complete with huge flat areas, jumps and steep graded hills. It was simply the perfect habitat for my genesis LE. So I let it run wild tearing up the dirt every where it went. Hill climbing seemed second nature to the Genny, jumps were smooth and high speed passes were fast to say the least. Did I mention I didn't adjust the second and third speeds so I wasn't going the fastest I could yet. Best Monster truck period, at least compared to the tiny 1/10 scale guys. No 1/10 could have survived here hehe. I also managed to drive away from some nasty killer cartwheels and flips. End of the Bashing session and no parts broken, not even a wheel axle, yay!
This is THE best bashing place I have ever seen, I will try to get some video on Sunday, but I only have a digital camcorder thing so quality might be lacking.
So share your Genesis or Nemesis stories here.

RE: Genesis LE Bashing
Sorry guys no video today. It snowed 4" last night then it rained all day making muddy slush everywhere. I haven't water proofed my Genny yet either. I am thinking of making a plastic cover thingy that would go around the Chassis and suspension making it almost water proof. That way the cover could be taken off and sprayed down and the Genny is spotless.

RE: Genesis LE Bashing
You can't really tell from the pictures but there is a hole for the exhaust. I tested it today and it worked great. It kept probably 95% of the mud from getting inside, electronics were completely dry and nothing melted, even the engine got plenty of air. So I was having a blast in the mud, or should I say liquid dirt, making big rooster tails and driving around every where. Then the truck stopped and it reved high. Later on inspection I found a e clip missing on the front axle. I thought that was all that was wrong but upon further investigation the problem was much worse. I had to take almost the whole truck apart to get the transmission out to look inside it. When I did get it open there was a chunk of metal loose. It was the reverse gear and the reverse actuator. I have no Idea how this could break because I made sure I was completely stopped before ever hitting the reverse button. I hope Cen will replace it because that should not break that easily for no reason. Looks like no Genny bashing on Christmas[&o]

Alright! I was invited to the upcoming monser jam by my lhs. I get to drive my Genny around durring half time and maybe take on the jumps( if I feel brave enough lol). I always wanted to do this, has anyone else here had the chance to do this as well?

I've never had the chance to do it but that is how i got hooked on RC's. I saw a monster jam show in Edmonton Alberta and at halftime they had about 10 or so RC's running around and they set up a ramp and it was mostly the guys with buggys doing some insane 20 - 50 foot long jumps. The guys with MTs were doing doughnuts and racing and hitting a few ramps.
Should be fun.
Good luck

RE: Genesis LE Bashing
I thought I was gonna kill mine on the initial start, but it held up my hands didn't though. Starts now in about half a pull. I think I am gonna switch to the roto-start soon as my lhs gets one. What broke on it? Was it the way you were pulling or just a fluke?

It just doesn't wind back up so somthings wrong with it on the inside. I pull it out to the side as the manual says to. I would be hesitant on buying a roto starter, I have heard they break very easily especially with this big engine.

RE: Genesis LE Bashing
the pullstarts are relatiely simple. There are only 2 things that you really need to check. The coil spring and the one way bearing. it may be someting you can fix yourself.

RE: Genesis LE Bashing
OK, I took it apart( why do they make this truck so you have to remove at least two other things to get to the part you really need to remove lol.). Actually it wasn't that difficult and I had it fixed in no time. I did notice the string starting to wear on the plastic part it goes through though. It works like new, even if the string is a little looser than before. New years bashing will be most fun!

RE: Genesis LE Bashing
I have replaced my pullstart with a tiger drive and a 18 volt drill it's very simple and easier to use then the Roto-start or the pull start.
