Thanks guys...
Dustin-The chassis has been side lined because wrk has been so busy we have not had time to cut out "silly sh_t" on the water jet or any of the cnc equipement but you should see more on it later this fall...I do have other projects coming up that dont require the CNC's yet..you will probably see them first..
Anyway this cage went out for abit of "hard bashing" yesterday with excellent results!!
Did some sky high landings onto an asphalt parking lot on the rear and the lid with no breakage!!! but some pretty ugly transfer scuffing..The cool thing was when this thing landed on the rear then bounced over onto the roof and slid like 15 feet upside down with no damage to engine head....
I am heading out in abit for more "testing" with more furry to see if I can break it....I will take pictures of it after to show you guys...

Well,,yesterday I bashed the living he!! out of the cage..found a jump into an asphalt parking lot that would give the bad*****ed nemi about 12' for about 35' out. Landings were very easy to control, sssooo. after several roof landings, hard tail landings and subsequent bounces,, even few roof skids and general roll-over skids,, this thing hellishly fun!!!never before even thought of launching twelve feet on to asphalt!!! what a BLAST!!
Anyway, I decided, WEEE lets do it again today!!!![8D]
but.....the Cage had other thoughts....Ouch!! did someone say "buttpucker"???

Hey...great cage, you have shown its limits though...if you could somehow not have to drill holes in it it would be stronger...

ok got a brand new 10' stick 5/8" Delrin acetel rod..Will build it this weekend and I will use different screws and locations as well as not quite so sharp of bends to help dissapate the "shock load" more gradually..
I will post to be sure...Unless you guys dont care to see them...

oh yeah! post pics!
Looks like a sweet cage, and delrin is light, but if snapping is an issue, maybe a low carbon steel would be better?
Mig welder?

mrarc2002, Bending the delrin is easy,, you actually heat it slowly with a propane torch or industrial heat gun or Iron. I have found that the propane torch it easier and more controllable. Be very careful with the torch it will give off very poisoinous gases and will ignite. You will also want to heat it slowly and let it cool slowly. If you cool it too fast you can actually aneal it(Make it brittle-not stronger). I usually hold it about it 2"(50MM)from the the tip of the flame, and rotate the rod to evenly heat it. I watch the plastic for transparency and it becomes more translucent it will become plyable. You dont want heat too much, so you dont want the plastic to become completly transparent as it will actually "flow" and drip, thus ruining your work. You will have to experiment to get the technique right.
I did alittle light bashing today(had to retune HSN and LSN) to my delight so far this version is alot stronger. But A Good Beating Will Tell The Story.
Here is acouple more pics with the old body on this version

BTW,, Those GPM suspension parts are holding very well too!!! no bends, breaks, or cracks so far...Good Job GPM And Hardcoretrucks.com in florida. These things have taken a brutal beating and the suspension is still true with only a minor adjustment on the radio to correct Servo Arm Slippage!! I think I might buy a second set just to have them just in case.

WOW!!!! This thing is strong!!!!!!!!! I ran this thing on the same jump as last weekend and WOW!!!
WOW!!! Bad***** I think this version is a success!!! On my way home I saw a park with a bmx track..... there were a few kids out there so I asked if I could have a few minues of time on it without them on it so I didn't hurt them...Anyway the table top was about 4 feet high and the top was about 6feet the take off ramp looked like it was about 40 degrees. sky high luaches were Easy...
Anyway more sky tumbling was definitly in order.
After hard roof landings, tail drops, and endos...Only one item broke!!!!!!!!! The left rear axle!!!!!But first it landed on the rear part of the cage over the engine and did a bouncing roll thru the air and slamed into the one of the rail road ties holding the hills back!! Since I did not have my box with me my evening was over!! But WOW!!! This hardcore "testing" is way too addictive!!! Just need a cup of nitro.hehmehmhem
I need a good camera!!!! Anyone got a donation for the cause!!!!!LOL
