ORIGINAL: edp
Keep it up Dave and I'll go back to the '80s w/ the pinks and purples. I just don't want another red, white and blue ship for this one.

I like pink & purple too................LOL, but seriously, I was afraid the way I worded my last email could have been read differently than I had intended. I like the green & blue you have. I'm just itching to see ANY color on your Illusion..............
Take care,
David

Color going on.
The neon green is real thin and will take many light coats for it to fill in. The orange on the T2A was the same way. Dark colors do have the advantage as one light and one wet coat and your done. May do to the fuselage today and the wing tomorrow.

NOPE,
1 mist and 2 medium wet.
Fuselage is getting shot now and I'm letting it flash off before the third and last coat.
I'll have pics in about an hour after my son and I unmask it. So far 10 hours of masking and unmasking. Paint time for all three colors 1.5 hours. Ultracoat is tempting some times.

Thanks guys.
The long turtleback needs broken up, pain in the fantail to mask off but I like it. I used to work on Navy EA6B Prowlers, VAQ-129 Vikings training and VAQ-131 Lancers fleet squadron hence the tandem canopies.
I would love to do a CAG Prowler paint scheme of the early gloss gull gray and white. XLT? Hmmmmmm.
I guess next on the table will be a friends Tiporare that need repaired and finished.

RE: Illusion Build
It's interesting how much more rhomboidal the Illusion wing is compared to the T720. I guess it is Brown's call on increasing the area by 30 squares at the root.
Nice work Ed!
Any color on the stab? Lettering next?

Hey David, I cannot put my hands on a dictionary or a thesaurus so will you please enlighten me (and hopefully at least one other person in this thread as to the definition of "rhomboidal"?
Thanks buddy

RE: Illusion Build
Ah good, my made up word had the desired effect!
Rhomboidal... From the word rhombus:
A parallelogram with opposite equal acute and obtuse angles and four equal sides.
Otherwise known as a lozenge or diamond.
My 10 year old keeps me sharp as he tests me over dinner. Mostly I thought it sounded cool!

Hi Ron,
I'm getting back in the mood to finish it. After wiping out my P-7 and damaging my T2A back to back, it just took the wind out of my sails.
I have everything I need to repair the T2A and I have made up the graphics for the Illusion.
I want to get it finished so I show Dave Brown the pics at Toledo this Spring.

Ed,
Sorry to hear about your mishaps. I lost three in one week in 83, a Dirty Birdy 40 the beginning of the week and then a Twin Stick Trainer and Craftair Wind Drifter within an hour of each other the end of the week. Will be standby for your update.
