Georgetown, Tx Club 40 Race Mar 28th, 2015
Georgetown will be hosting its first Club 40 racing event on Saturday March 28th for 2015. This is the first Club 40 race for central Texas for 2015. It appears the weather is looking good for that weekend but its Texas so I won't promise anything. Gary Fisher will be the CD.

that was a Stobel V3.
several years ago it was the cutting edge competition glider. Not so much now, but those guys change/update their technology about as fast as computers do.
I like it. It launches high and has real long legs.

Well the admiral spoke up today and it looks like I'm not leaving home till Friday evening so I'm gonna miss the pre-race.
Dang!
Hope I still know how to fly these things, I haven't been around a pylon since last year. Take it easy on me!

Skully it would have been very bad for J.O. With you coming in second place he would have had a heart attack if he could even had "made it" into the mains. He must have known you were going to race
and he was a little frightened. Maybe we will see him in Waco on the 11th. Luckily for him you won't be able to attend. Second place behind Skully. I wish I had the power like you to make a racer stay at home.
I had a great time even though I broke two planes. Crazy racer mentality, I guess.

Georgetown Club 40 race results. I would like to give special thanks to Steven Bird for bringing the scoring system down from Waco. Special thanks to Randy Rich for supplying the racing fuel, Riches Brew and also a special thank you to all the volunteers who worked as cut judges and scorers. It was very windy and the attrition rate was an all time record of 11 planes lost, mostly due to mid-airs. Race results. We had 14 pilots that started, after 5 heats, we only had enough to run the A and B main.
A-Main
1 Jim Plake - Fast time **1:32.00
2. Eric Desardi
3. Jerry Hellums
4. Jeff Large
B-Main
1. Eric Desardi
2. Jerry Stafford
3. Steve Blackwell
4. Steve Bird
Thank you all for coming. Bob Petrinec and the GAMA crew appreciates it.

Nothing is worst than making it to the "A" main and getting a cut to put yourself in last place. Even when your in last place.

Oldbob told me he needed to get in and do more trash talking. Being that he is a friend of mine I thought I might help out.
There was a Cub 40 race in Texas when the 14 pilots had 11 plane attrition. AND THEY LIKED IT!!!
You younger guys, under 60, might not get that. Hint: Dana Garvey as the Grumpy Old Man.
Here in Indiana, we will be able to go to the field and fly in about 3 weeks, if we wear galoshes and a heavy coat.
Your friend, Ken

Skully it saddens me to see that you had to have 80% of the competition crash just to get a 2nd. I also hear that you took out at least 2 planes yourself. Should we call you Kyle Busch or Juan Pablo Montoya. No wait......you are the Danica of Club 40!!!! lmao.
