Testing out new controller that holds attitude, compass direction and altitude. At the top, I was hands off.
It holds altitude with a barometric pressure sensor and heading with a magnetic compass sensor.
With this controller I have more confidence to go higher w/o it accidently flipping over or me losing orientation.

fyi about an incident at the mulch plant near the field. Did the MSP Trooper land at the field today? They can also land at the Aquatic center too.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I ran into MSG Todd Landen (from the wounded warrior program) at SEFF this past week. Man, the people at SEFF hooked him up. They passed around the bucket for donations. Between the pilots and vendors he recieved enough to get him flying and keep him flying for a nice long time.

Watch till the end for the 25% and 5% speed time stretch.
Mark can analyze what happened.
Me, I'd put a gyro on the ailerons, I'll be curious to know what caused the wing rocking.

I remember Todd and his family- where are they living these days? Are they still local to us?

Dave, awesome video!!! Not so great flying.

I think the damage will be easy to fix.

I'm at a loss as to what caused the wing rocking. It seemed to go away at high speed.

The crash looks like a stall, the model seemed to roll off to the right, sliding into the right gear, then whipped around. Talk about whiplash!

Had a blast on Sunday.

Good to see a lot of people flying at the field. The food was great and I don't think we could of gotten a nicer day for flying!

Guys,

Why don't we start an official FSA Facebook Page? It would be a lot easier to keep track of all the posts etc.

Wanted to thank Rob for letting me borrow his 700e for a few days
so I could draw/design this frame set.

I have a facebook page for CNC Effects if you want to keep track of my projects.

Why no to Facebook? It seems a ton of clubs have Facebook pages. It's a lot easier to track that a single forum thread.

I don't like Facebook for RC/Club use either. I don't know how it is restricted but people who are your "Friends" (which in my case is only relatives and college, high school buddies) can see what your posting. Plus my facebook account is really my houshold and not just me. Nothing is stopping someone from starting one, but I don't like the idea of it replacing RCU. RC is my GETAWAY from work and home life.....

Guys if you see my recent transactions on RCU, don't deal with the guy I bought the Sbach from. If you need more detail just send me a PM or talk to me at the field.

One issue with Facebook is that you have to have a Facebook account to participate- it's probably inevitable but not everyone has or wants a Facebook account.
