New to C/L flying so these tanks are a bit of a mystery as to what goes where? The tank is a Brodak BH-487

I think the left hand picture from left to right is: Fuel line to engine, Uniflow to muffler pressure or vented into airstream, and fill line.

And plug the fill line after you fill the tank.

So I fill the tank till fuel comes out of the vent. Won't the fuel run out of the line to the engine? I guess you clamp that line?

My guess is you FILL thru the vent - the right-most (in front view) is OVERFLOW - so fill until overflow runs then cap the overflow.

You may or may not have a problem with fuel running through the engine line. Clamp it if needs be.

The others gave you the info., but I was hearing someone tell a story about these CL tanks. Just wanted to make an engine setting or such and shot a little fuel into the tank. Engine just would not start. Finally someone mentioned that it was not drawing any fuel. LIGHT ON ! That tank has to be over 1/2 full or the pick-up is out of the fuel. Not like an RC Tank! HA! Fueled up and engine was back to running condition.

The feed line is on the left, it should run out into the peak of the wedge, the middle line should be the uniflow line, it should run out into the wedge just short of the feed line. The line on the right is an overflow line it should go to the top of the tank. Fill via the uniflow line till the over flow runs out, then cap the overflow.

You can probe this tank with some coper wire. Stick it in a line and see how far it goes, tap the wire and you will feel where the end is.

I removed the aft cap and saw how it was set up. The far right is the over fill tube that gets plugged after filling.

Make sure the tank is air-tight when you put it back together or it will not work worth a hoot.
