Default Venus hits hard

Ah well, it was bound to happen sometime. Took the Venus out this wknd, like may other times. Nice day, but a bit breezy (~10-15mph). Coming in for a landing and the wings were rocking a little and I probably should have had a bit more power going into the headwind. I was about 5 ft. off the ground and approaching the end of the runway and stupidly decide to "go around", when I should have set it down. I quickly add full throttle, which resulted in a nice torque roll towards the left and down she went into terra firma.[:@] Should have applied some right rudder. The damage was actually pretty minor (no pics), with the fuse cracked all the way around, just aft of the firewall. The wing looked fine, but I snapped the wing hold down block out. Most of the breaks were pretty clean. Shoudn't take too long to repair. My pride was mostly hurt, as I consider myself to be a competent pilot. It was also a little embarassing too, as a few new guys were at the field watching.
