Default Resurection of my Yak (Repaired)

Well after these past two months of hard work getting my yak back together since its big crash.....I have since replaced/repaired everything. Right wing had to be redone all the way down to making new ribs. Recovered it in Ultracote with my own scheme and also replicated the wildhare logo on to the right wing in Red . Still waiting on Horizon to send me the backordered True Red to paint the cowl and landing gear. The BEFORE and After photos:

Here are some rebuild pictures. It was well worth it. Only $55.00 in balsa and ply, $36.00 in covering and lots of time. I think it looks better now; I didn't like the original scheme that much.

That looks great. Did you ever figure out what caused the crash in the first place? It seems wierd to break after the wing saddle like that, or is that just the way the picture shows it?

never figured what caused the crash just glitched after take-off and rolled hard left then I regained control for a second then got hit again then took a dirt nap. I'm getting my DX-7 into it now that I have it rebuilt and a new radio. 2.4GHz All the way. Can't wait!!

2.4Ghz will be good for conventional planes with the airframe made of wood but be careful if your plane has lots of carbon fiber or metal in it since it causes interference. [X(]

Only CF component will be the wing tube. I've heard many people having problems with CompARF planes causing lots of interference...not had much experience with them though. There's nothing but composite so I guess it would pose a problem.

I have the DX7 installed in two of my aircraft: Venus II, a 90 size pattern plane with an OS 1.20 AX and a Tiger 120 also powered with the OS 1.20 AX. Both perform just fine. I have carbon rods in both planes for controlling the rudder and elevator, both planes rods are very nearby the RX and the antenna pairs (the DX7 has two receivers and two separate antennas). The reason for the two antennas and two receivers is to overcome any potential inteference. I've flown both my planes in awkward conditions at the field, weather was terrible for one flight last weekend, and the plane sort of got away from me distance wise, but I got it back by flying it straight, lowering the throttle, wagging the wings to show what direction I was headed, then turned it around and flew it back. The distance was probably 400 to 500 yards away. NO inteference no problems.

You can and will enjoy the DX7 in this new build. Let us know about your 're-maiden' of this newly rebuilt plane.

DS.
