Engine for 11x10 prop
Zinger props is introducing a new 11x10 pusher prop. This prop size has been long awaited by me since I fly a keecat. I have limited space between the boom and ground clearance and no one else ever saw fit to make a low diameter high pitch pusher until now. My plane is about 9 lbs dry and I would love to put on a jett motor, which motor would best utilize the 11x10 prop for my plane? Thanks

Hopefully APC will come along and make a better 11X10 prop after the zinger hits the market. I'm not so sure how much more performance you'll be able to squeeze out of the keecat with a high pitch prop because its a fairly draggy plane...especially with the thick wings and two giant tail booms with servos sticking out of them. By the way, what kind of gear do you have on your plane that makes it weigh 9lbs? When I had the basic keecat running on a tower 75 engine, it weighed no more than 7lbs wet.

Not a good prop match for a Jett 90L, and definately too much load for the 90LX
The 90L and 90LX run best on the big pushers with the 11x7 and 11x8 pusher props. Best to just let them turn WAY up in rpm.
Although it is not available yet, this prop might be a good place start if one wished to "work" the prop a bit..... thin it down, depitch just slightly. If you could get a resulting rpm up over 13,500 on the SJ-90L it would probabably perform well in the air.

bob,
what about the 11x10 on my Super tigre .90 with the Jett muffler. am a little concerned about turning it way up? what do you think? It has sustained 14500 rpm so far.
I just got the Jett muffler on it with the graupner 11x8 but havent run it yet. thinkin g that will be a good match.

RE: Engine for 11x10 prop
The 11x10 should work nicely on the ST. Id not worry about letting the engine turn too much. But it seems to produce its best power around 12,500 to 13,000 rpm. The 11x10 will likely pull it down closer to 12,000 with the jett muffler.... should be ok there.
The 11x8 should be interesting. See what the rpm hits.

sorry bob, its going to be awhile, we had to remount the engine upright to get the jett muffler on it, and I have a new jet that is taking my time up. I will post the numbers when I get there. Have you ever twisted an APC prop. IE twisting an 11x7 to an 11x9 would be my thought? if so, how do you get it precise?
with the old jtec muffler, we got 14,000

Ive never repitched plastic prop. I am not sure how effective that would be.
Wood props..... those I have reworked. But repitching is more than twisting, it involved the airfoil and blade width as well.
