Default What Battery?????

I've got a GWS 300C motor and a castle 20P speed control..... what battery and charger should I get that will deliver great 3D power for my Tribute? I've got everything else.... but I've been dissapointed with the results so far. ( I'm running a ni-cad 1830MaH 6v so far and had minimal success)

WHAT SHOULD I GET???? Any info will help.

Thanks,

What size cells are in your current pack.
Most 300's run great off of AAA, AA, or 2/3A size cells.
You might try going to a 7 or 8 cell 720mah nimh pack, 1100 Hecell, or KAN 950. Or even better Li-poly packs.
The biggest problem with the GWS motors is that most applications require 9v to get good performance, but this decreases the motor life very quickly.

Default battery

well, motor life isn't what I'm worried about right now.... at 17.00 a motor, it's not a problem getting a new one. The battery I'm using now is a 5 cell 1830 6v (AA). Which isn't supplying enough power to fly.

I'd like to try the Kan 950 or 1020, but how many cells.... and where do I get them.... and what charger do I need to get?

Thanks,

The problem is the 5 cells and 6 volts. For acrobatic you will want to go at least 7 or 8 cells. 5 cells is not even enough for and IPS motor.

You can get some Hecells at edogfight.com, and I believe Mountain Models has KAN packs and 720 AAA packs.
The KAN's perform better than the Hecells IMO, but they are also about 1 oz heavier. The 720's won't push as many amps, but they weigh about 1/3-1/2 less than the larger cells.

Most people use 7 or 8 cells, but if you're not worried about motor life, go with 8.
