Has anyone converted the standard Electra kit version (comes with a motor, toggle switch for motor on/off, and uses 3 standard servo's and a
seperate RX battery) to soemthing a bit lighter?
I like my Electra but feel its too heavy for nice long flights. I figure I can rip out the throttle servo and switch and replace it with an ESC that has a BEC (so I can also get rid of the RX battery). I would also think I could use micro servos for the rudder and elevator. This should save tons of weight and give me a real throttle.
Has anyone done this with succes? I'm not sure what to buy.
Any other mods worth thinking about?
