Default how to wire 2 lipos in series ?

HI, everyone. Does anyone know how to wire 2 lipo batteries in series?
I have a y connector but not sure about the wiring. I am Thinking on the one lead of the Y
That goes to the battery would just be a normal + to + conection, But if wire a - side of the dean connector to the Y , it would lead to the + side to the other end of the Dean conector?
Is it OK to hook + to a - on one side of the Y ? Seems Like that is the only way to do it?
+ to - seems like a no no to me?
