Himax 6332-230 repair DIY
Well, my Himax 6332-230 finally fried the coil after 609 flights. I thought I got excuse to buy a new motor. But after I called Himax, they sent me a new coil, I spent 5 minutes to replace the bad coil and boom! Just like a Phoenix, it is alive again!
I love this feature that as my recollection, didn't see from other brands outer runner. Ground test of this "new" motor has exactly the same performance as before (current, rpm....), can't wait to see it fly again!
The Himax 6332-230 is very robust, but the major drawback is the weight: 24.4 Oz. I wish Himax can develop something around 19.5 Oz with the same performance.
Anyway, here are some pix I like to share:
1. Bad coil
2. Replacement coil
3. Remove bad coil
4. Done
