Is anybody flying the full composite by now? Any comparison with the original one?

Volkert
Hi,

Sebartreseller pricelist US http://www.sebartrc.com/useruploads/...art_pplist.pdf
say full composite Wind S Pro is avalable in June in US. I suppose it could be available in other parts of the world now also.
Would be nice to hear about the quality of the full composite version, weight and how it flies.

Sebart flew one on the Worldup contest in Ashford, England. You might want to look at that website or forum posts about that contest, for info. He didn't win the contest.

Two of these laser cut parts were included with my Wind S Pro. They are 6-7 or so inches long and the hole fits a wing pin. I can't figure out how to use them. Can't see them in the instruction or pictures. Anyone use them and where/what for?

Dave I think they were for shipping only, to project the trailing edge of the root.

Thanks Dave, Makes sense to me. I'll quit trying to use them, been so long since I unpacked it I'd forgotten where they were.

I have yet to find a reason to get the full composite. The wings and stabs are no lighter. They are just painted, and for an extra 1000.00, I can't see how you could justify it.

hmm, over here the difference is 300€, and you get the luxury wingbags (for what it's worth) of 99€ included.

Hi,

Maybe composite wing+stab is little stronger and perhaps more durable?

And it is some small aerodynamic enhancements in the full composite version as I understand it from pictures at
(in German language): http://www.f3alorenz.de/home-f3a/bod...o-voll-gfk.htm
Same page translated in Google translator:
http://translate.google.se/translate...o-voll-gfk.htm

If the aerodynamic enhancements is noticable in real flying I have not a clue.

Thanks Chris. I knew originally it was nearly 1000.00 for the composite wings and stabs. Did the cost of purchasing the wings and stabs separately go down as well?

From the official Sebart pricelist:
http://www.sebart.it/download/sebart-pricelist.pdf

Upgrade set; wings + stab + carbon tube = EUR 900 (roughly 1300 dollar)

Only 300 more and you got a basic red/white wood version extra, so wings + stabs + fuse + smallparts.. I wonder who would be crazy enough to pay EUR 900 for the upgrade set (

The difference is noticeable, in the last world championships I saw the two models .
In the Composite was possible to see:
Wing pulled back more
It includes flow fences and accurate installation place
Decreased thickness of the wing section
in the horizontal stabilizer Increased surface and thickness
Larger Aileron surface
Aileron and horizontal stabilizer hinges are Skin hinges but the lower slot/gap is closed as F3J, F5J Style
Coverage of Servos so that only the pusharod sticking out (F3J, F5J style)

In a week or so I should get the composite version
I'll thread the construction and comparison between the two models
since I fly now the basic version ( balsa wing ) it will be easy

Chester,

Super good. I will be following that full composite assembly and comparison to the partly composite version with great interest.

Hi,

I found that if one save the images from f3alorenz.de site and open them they where larger then shown on their website so detalis could be seen better for the full composite Wind S Pro that way. Many of the changes that Chester mentioned can clearly be seen. The more I look at the full composite version the more I like it. I can hardly wait for Chesters review/comments when he gets his full composite version.

I will agree. I hadn't seen any real pictures. Those are impressive. Just wish it didn't cost so much for the composite version wings as an add on.

You're talking about the wing/stab fences, right?

What would this cost? Would it be possible just to get the drawings in dwg format?

Steve,
Do you ship to the US? If so, do you have a website I could order these fences from?

Thanks,

Just send him a PM. I PM'd him, and sent him money via pay pal, and my fences are on their way.
