You sure can. I just put a lipo in my hummingbird and it works great, just make sure you balance the heli when you install it. I put a 2 cell 7.4 volt, 2100mah in mine and I went from about 4 minutes of flying to 20 minutes. Lithium is definitely the way to go.

Yes you can , make sure you get the right Li-Po. Their not all created equal.

I have the Kokam 2s 1500 mAh 8C pack, and I get about 45 minutes of
practice hovering. Usually with 2 to 3 minute hovers. I would go through 3
bird-seed pack in less that 30 minutes. At $35.000 each their worth it.

Just make sure that their are at least 8C discharge.

Like Charlie said you have to reballance the bird. I have to hang mine off the very front
of the rods the stock pack hangs from, and then tape a 1 gram weight on the tail boom
just forward of the little clamp that holds the two tail booms.

A 2 cell (7.4) etec 1200 pack works great on a stock HB. You need to mount the battery out in front inside the canopy to balance with these cells.

LiPo's can be extremely volitile if not treated correctly!!!!!!
Buy batts, charger & ESC together as a package to be sure everything works together. Balance as previously mentioned....and enjoy!
You need a new ESC to match, as the voltage drop is different to normal ESC operation.

Electronic Speed Controller.
It sorts out power requirements for the motors etc.
