Ok Gang, here's the latest motor project, you can blame this one on Sears, I needed a new bandsaw blade and noticed that they had the Huskey weedeaters on sale Four lbs even straight out of the weedeater

A couple of hours work and it's down to 1lb 11oz. Looks promising!

Good job; Looking at that first pic I would have never thought it would have turned out that nice. How is the power??

About four flips with the choke on to get a pop, then about 4 more flips to get it running. After that, one flip starts. Getting 7650rpm with an APC 16x10 right now but this engine has less than a tank of gas through it so far and I'm expecting a good bit of improvement. Dual rings, excellant compression, beautiful throttle response. Only snag, it's got one of those oval shaped intake ports like on the Poulan 46 so building the carb adapter is a little work (understatement)

Default RE: conversions

Well I finally got around to doing some more prop testing with the baby Huskey, this time with a B&B muffler on it

APC 16x8 8250rpm
APC 16x10 7760rpm
APC 17x6 8550rpm
Bambula 16x8 8490rpm
MA 16x8 (three blade) 7680rpm
MA 18x8 6850rpm

I've got to get this motor on a plane and get it broken-in.

Looks Great! What are you using for ignition? What's the weight with/without ignition?

Cheers

Just took it off the test stand and weighed it, 3lbs 4oz. with the muffler, C-H ignition (with Bosch cap) and Dubro mounts. One of the plastic motor mounts might save a little more weight.
