my first working cdi with advance
1 Attachment(s)
Hi people, I just want to show you my own CDI system with advance timing programmed. The microcontroller is gradually advancing from 2000rpm to 6000rpm where it gets full advance (adjustable in real time from 0 to 33.5 degrees) so I can look for the best point with the trim while the engine is running. It works fine with 4.8V or 6V, 550mA it's enough (power consumption 220mA). Easy start and no kickback (retarded), good spark up to almost 30.000 rpm. Total weight is 5.8 oz
It's working fine on my converted Stihl 60cc, I'm going to test it on a G-23 soon. |

RE: my first working cdi with advance
Thank you for sharing your project.
Your English is fine. I wish I were so lucky to communicate that well in Spanish!:D I would be interested as well in prototype. Is the braided outer insulation wire attached to the compression ring on the spark plug? |

ZiLoG Z-80:
RE: my first working cdi with advance
Mikenlapaz, the braided wire can be attached to the spark plug's body with a fastener after install the spark plug on the engine, or directly to the engine's body. In the picture is attached to the spark plug with a plastic fastener just to test the unit without the engine.

(The hole in the plastic box is for timing regulation with a potentiometer as the Pro Spark system??) saludos.
RE: my first working cdi with advance
(In the hole is the potentiometer to set the max advance from 0 up to 33 degrees) |
RE: my first working cdi with advance
Gracias, AV8TOR |
