ST LOUIS Big Bird & Jet Fly-In

For the ELEVENTH straight year the St. Louis Radio Control Flying Association, or SLRCFA.com, is hosting the annual FLY-IN. The SLRCFA.com facilities (just off highway 44 & 109 in Eureka, MO) are known as among the best in the country. Radio Control pilots from around the U.S. visit St. Louis each year to participate in the Fly-in.

The SLRCFA is not-for-profit organization representing serious radio control aeromodelers from around the Midwest, particularly the greater St. Louis metro area. The club has existed continuously for over 30 years. The club flying field is well-known nationally for its exceptional location and facilities. The club facilities in Eureka are located at 788 Augustine Road, off highway 109 south of US 44 in the Meramec River Valley. For more information, visit SLRCFA.com.

- Jets Giants Warbirds 3D/XA welcome (generally IMAA rules)
- NO TREES!!!
- Pilot's dinner on Saturday
- Pilot raffle (each pre-registered pilot gets 10 free tickets, each non-preregistered pilot gets 5 free tickets)
- Pilot's trophies
- AMA required
- $25 landing fee
- 600 foot runway
- Electric supplied up and down the lines
- Floodlights for night flying
- Covered pavilion
- Plenty of parking Primitive Camping (with electric)
- Nearby hotels (we're only 20 minutes from downtown STL)

Night-flight with smoke on of Ryan Mowery at last year's event. We have flood lights for night flying of electrics at the field, but we turned 'em off for this video. My phone had some trouble focusing, but still a cool video.

Here's a picture of my Spacewalker. It looks like dry flying weight will be under 22 pounds. A DA-50 ought to pull it just fine.
Not sure why the colors don't look right in this photo. I used Klass Kote bright red and Cub yellow. Must have been the lighting in my basement.

Flood Impact NIL! - Field is Ready
To think that we were 12 feet under water in the Meramec 500 year flood only three weeks ago! Electricity back on yesterday. Great job. Field is gonna be at full force for the event!
Grass near runway (for warbirds) and runway (asphalt) are in great shaped and we'll have them double-rolled for the event.
