Default News Flash-.40 ARF F-20 Returns

Looks like Kangke Industrial, USA is selling the old "Cermark" F-20, 40-size ARF for $197.77. It doesn't say if it comes with the spinner. No retracts. Straight 4-channel rig...

I think mine does about 125-135 or so with a Rossi .45 long-pipe.
Just right for "medium" SPEED FREAKS !

Default Hmmm..

Would you recommend that over the 60 sized arf? They seem to be the same price but the 60 comes w/retracts and spinner right?

Default Decisions...Decisions....

The .60 is more plane for the money, and does come with retracts, and the spinner...It is a lot of work....

The .40 is a simple, fast reliable plane , and is a lot less hastle...

I like 'em both...

Default Question...master!

What do you think of the 40 size in comparison with the Lanier F-4 Phantom ARF?

It is supposed to be a sweet ARF>.

Default Might be a toss-up

I don't know much about the Lanier...but the guys who have 'em, love 'em.

The .40 size is 55" long, and the .60 is 66" long.
That might be a consideration...

Default size?

For the trunk of my car you mean...

I have heard the finish on the F-4 is outstanding...Fiberglass fuse etc.

Thanks for the pics and info.

I built the This DC F-20. Came as an "ARC" This big Cermark is no better or worse. Actually it is easier since there is more room to work.

Default F20/40size

All I can say is it is a great sports model with good jet like flying capabilities. It probably is going to be a bit quicker than the 60 size version IMHO, especially if you shoe horned a 60 size donk in up front. Mine is 4 Y.O. and still going strong ....I installed a O.S. 61 in mine. Makes a great D/F or turbine practice model.

Default Yo, Marty......

Nice job on the .40....looks good.
I agree, the .40 with a good motor is plenty fast.
Are you running the FSR ? I assumed you were...cause the FX is no match for the old .60 FSR.

I hope my .40 lasts as long as your's...it is a dead-bolt reliable..."hoot" plane.

Default God bless the .60 FSR...

I'm with you, ozcan....I love 'em too....
I have a "brand new" one I put up this year in a (get this) Super Kaos....had to....couldn't help it....been sittin' on the engine, and the kit for about 20 years...

I just rebuilt my old one....that I got slightly used in the late '70's. I ran it continuosly for 15 years. It had NO COMPRESSION at the end....but started and ran fine ! I put a Tatone muffler on it a while back....and the darn thing would still pull my old scratch-built stick straight up !!!
I got a new cylinder liner, and piston from a fella in Canada, also a gasket set. Got a new ring from Tower. The rod was in perfect shape....NO PLAY ! I got some new bearings for it locally...some crazy 25-30 thousand RPM rated bearings for reasonable $.
(BTW....if you ever need any bearings...let me know....these guys have a store in So. Cal. that spec. in small precision high speed brgs.)

Here's the new "oldie"...reborn...and ready to kick some more modern " booty". It's going in a Killer Kaos that I'll build this winter....(I have the long tuned pipe for it). I pulled the rear pump off...never used it anyway, cause of the Perry Carb Fiasco...
( gonna skinny up the fuse about 1/2 inch....and "de-fatten" the wing about 3/8 inch...don't tell anyone ). heh heh heh
Dave.

Default Hmmm

Looks like alot of work! Pretty sweet though. Did you see my thread on the VECO 61? This engine has virtually no compression, but I decided to torch it off recently and...WOW, this motor is an animal!

Anyhow, How many Cermark F-20's (60 size..)do you have now??
Nice pile..

Default Labor of Love...

It wasn't so bad....the hard part was gettin' the crankcase and head cleaned up.
No, I didn't see the Veco thread....where?
I'm a K&B lover from way back...."Stallion .35 control line motors".
Brand new...$ 9.95......(late sixties)

Still run the "late" .61's, with the small...improved muffler, running Magnum carbs....sweet.

I know where theres a couple of .60 Cermark F-20's...if you want one....

Finished O.S. .60 FSR, pay no attn. to the prop, and carb., check the flow-thru pipe.... :stupid:
Dave....

Default Yes...more suds...

When I put the pipe on, the motor was clapped-out and had hardly any compression....but still started and ran OK. It gave about a 1/3 boost in power. I don't know what it would have done for a good motor...but I'm certain it would have given a boost over the stock muffler.

It's called a Tatone muffler....I keep an eye peeled for them at swaps....

Tatone, okay thats what its called. One thing I liked is the way it sounds compared to a regular muffler.

Flyboy Dave, Just as a point of intrest I happen to know that Kangke made them for Cermark from the begining. I bought one about 3 years ago and the instructions said Kangke but it came in a Cermark box, later versions the instructions said Cermark on the cover page but the rest of the instructions were Kangke.
