Need Gears Set for Old Futaba Servo
All:
I have a Tiger Tail 4 and I am in need of a servo gear set. The plane is Ron Chidgey's prototype TT 4 that he flew in the 1979 Nats. The final output gear (the one to which you attach the servo arm) for the retract servo has seriously worn splines (bad enough that the servo wheel slips on it). The servo is a Futaba FP S130G retract servo. I have looked at upgrading the servo to the 136G but while it is narrower than the 130G it is 1/4" longer (front to rear) and .3" shorter in height than the 130G. If I upgrade to the 136G I will have to modify the servo rails for both the retract and aileron servos (the aileron servo is an FP S130) as well as install new retract pushrods and I would like not to do this [sm=confused.gif].
So, here is my question. Does anyone out there have a gear set for the 130G (the standard 130 servo gear will not work) or do you have a new or used (in servicable condition) output gear that you will sell me?[sm=drowning.gif]. I have sent an e-mail to Futaba asking for assistance but have yet to hear from them. I have also looked on the web for help but to no avail.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read the post.

RE: Need Gears Set for Old Futaba Servo
you might want to get a hold of Tony Stillman at Radio South and see if he might have any old servos sitting around, or he might also know about a replacment...

JeffH:
thanks very much. It is greatly appreciated.
Scott:
I have contacted Radio South and they are going to look thru their stuff.
If all else fails, I will just have to make the upgrade to the newer Futaba retract servo.
Thanks to all for the help,
Ed

Ed, if you wind up going with a replacement servo, I have a pair of JR 703 retract servos laying around gathering dust...

Thanks very much for the offer. I have replacement retract servos (both Futaba and JR) but the replacment units are longer. I was simply trying to find a gearset for the older servo. I have talked to Tony Stillman at Radio South and he is going to try to help so I am going to send him the servo and see what can be done.
Many thanks for the offer. It is greatly appreciated

i wouldn't even hesitate, send it to the experts (radio south) and let them fix it. no further efforts required, of course assuming they have the parts.

Thanks very much. They have the gear set in stock. Have you ordered from them before and if so how was the service/shipping? Did you have any problems and if so, were they resolved to your satisfaction? Do you know in what country they are located?
Thanks very much,
Ed
