Default Blade SR

Should I get this helicopter? Looking to spend 200-300 dollars on a RTF.
Been flying alittle cobra infraded helicopter Gyro lite. Flew planes and run gas rc boats.
But the chopper thing is pretty kool. Just looking to fly for fun. Would this make a good starter RTF Collective Pitch Electric Micro Heli.
Been reading the net for info and the Blade SR looks like something I might be able to start with. Plus there are a few people that fly near me.
Thanks in Advance for the advice.

Hi, I have an SR and its a nice intermediate heli but a big jump from an infra red heli..

I'd recomment something like an MSR or 120 SR first.. gain your confidence on that and then move to the SR..

Cheers.

Thanks Rob,
I'm pretty good with a stick, and thought the SR seemed alittle nicer heli.
I do have friends with much larger heli's that will be with me when I give it a whirl.
Thanks for your reply, I'll go back to the Blade heli site and do some more reading.
Cheers,

That's cool... the SR is a nice little heli and flies very well..

Can I give you some advice I learned the hard way?

1. Do the tail wag fix on the gyro.. plenty about this on youtube.. I used 3 layers of foam and tweaked the gyro gain and it flies super now..

2. I had problems with the stock servos and replaced them all with HS 65 MG servos.. I actually crashed the bigger brother Blade 400 due to the faulty servos..

I almost crashed the SR for a similar faulty servo... you could be lucky and have no problem at all, but the Hitech Servos are much better...

Take your time when balancing and tracking the blades.. it makes a huge difference to the stability of the heli..

Good luck with it..

persist through the first few seconds of this one.. it does become visibile..

I have a Blade 120, and it mostly sits on the shelf because it's not easy to fly at all. The other two FPs I have, a Honey Bee and a Night Ranger 2, are much easier to control.
I see the 120 as an advanced indoor flyer.

It is a handful initially when you are learning but after flying CP helis for a while the SR 120 is easy by comparison and lots of fun indoors.
