Hi Mj77,

The Airworld Hawk is an awesome plane. I have been building mine for a while and if you like you can have a look at my build thread. Mine is almost ready for paint as well.

hi guys
maiden my hawk last week, absolutley superb best model ive ever had the pleasure of owning but i do have a couple of questions if anybody can help? 1st are those small gear doors ive been there night after night and no success, has everybody fitted these or are they left off? reason i ask is i got them on once and then they fowel the main door and it stops the gear comming down and thats not a chance i want too take. 2nd is the smoke tank best place too locate it? and the smoke pump another pain in the arse, its either duffy or im doing something wrong in the programing just cant get the beep sound too say its programing so any advice would be gratefully recieved.
regards and happy landings

Hello all Hawk fans ,
I'm building the 1/4 scale version and I'm at a point where I would very much apreciate if some one would be kind enough to point out prefferd locations of all internal rigging i.e batteries , Powerbox and other vital equipment please.

My suggestion earlier in this thread that we could get Glennis to make scale nosewheels for the. Hawk, came to nothing.

This morning I had a request from another Hawk builder for such a wheel

I believe Glennis has gone, so does anyone know of another company who could make the wheel and tyre ?

Any of you guys with Hawks interested, I will take two ?

My two Hawks. mentioned in this thread are both fully serviceable and pristine after 250 flights.

Upgrades since original build are :

Carbon Fibre strengthening in the main gear areas.

Engines now JetCat 180 rxs. Perfect power.

Ailerons and stab. Servos are now JR 8931s.

Gyros also now on ailerons.

Weatronic 2.4. Radios.

This model is really delightful to fly and totally viceless.

If interested in wheels please pm me .

David.

ps, coloured. Smoke, forget it !!!

Correct, Dave it is the smaller AirWorld model. 1:4.5.

The wheels on my SkyGate are actually very scale. I would like to enhance my AW model which has given me so much pleasure.

We got actual manufacturing data of the tires . As we made the current F-18 /F4 tires at 1:7 .

Unfortunately none of the tires of both the AW hawk or the Skygate one are correct , nor is the hub . This has been 100% authenticated comparing the existing ones to the factory blue prints , hubs and tires .

The T1 hubs and tires are different from the ones on the MK66 in the Swiss museum .

Just getting in to the final phases of building mine! It’s taken a long time but I got it to the point where Phil Noel could paint it and now I’m fitting out and wiring.

Thanks Roger. It should be making plenty of appearances up at Phoenix. Should be happy going in and out of there.

After picking away at this for years, one positive of these constant bloody lockdowns in the UK is I got time to really get the build of this moving again. Managed to get it in to a state where Phil Noel could work his magic with the paint job and the final bits wrapped up over the last few weeks. Roll on the end of this latest lockdown so we can get back to playing and doing some proper business again!
