dude where do you get that nose wheel tray.. i want one.. i hate pull pull..on a nose..they always end up getting play and causing isssues.. had to tightien mine last week.. i have about 50 flights on mine now.. anyway very slick setup.. nothing like a push rod direct to the wheel...

crow works very well on the twin boom planes. kingcat bobcat..i even had it on my elan boomerang.. much needed on the kingcat.. but flashes lightnings etc.. doesnt work well with these wings.. really dont need it anyway...

What I did find that running too much flap didnt work out how I liked it. The model seemed to reach a speed where it stopped flying and would dump down on the gear. Less flap allowed it to carry on flying till the very end.
Guys, with regard to the control throws on the UF, can anyone please confirm their current throws? Are they just per the CF instructions (which I have, with no amendments)? I have searched most of the thread but must have missed them somewhere.....
I have just started fitting out my UF...tail is done, wings almost finished. I love my classic flash so it will be interesting to see the difference with this one. It is the best performing jet I have ever owned. I really love my scale stuff but it is great fun to have a sports machine that you can throw around and have fun with.

He makes them out of ply, seals them and paints. Its his hall mark.
Craig, I have 15mm up and 16mm down elevator (measured at elevator tip) 50% up expo and 55% down expo. Rudder 45mm each way, my expo 35%.
Ail 18mm down and 15mm up (measured at tip) with 40% expo
Flaps are T/O 25mm and LND 100mm Measured at root.
I have just re measured the elevator with Flap and i'm actually 1.5mm T/O and 4.5mm LND, but this obviously depends on flap movement as less flap with need more down.
This is exactly how mine is flying as yesterday

Sounds like my P-80 version! Decided to bring the fuselage into the office this morning to do the messy bits like the NACA ducts, so I can finally get it done.

I have never used one of the behotec retract/brake valves before. Are they a proportional brake valve, or just on/off? I am used to the jetronics stuff and am wondering whether I should stick with that or go with the behotec valve.
Any tips on how you set yours up? I would imagine that you use a brake to retract mix for extra servo throw when braking is required....

Yes, on off, but with a little grease on the drums and the fact you only need 85psi it works well.
Yes, I use elevator to gear mix for extra travel.

I found the Behotec air tank I was supplied with was too large to fit into the nose without hacking sizeable chunks out of the front formers so I installed two Robart tanks taped together and wrapped in thin foam. These fitted into the nose section nicely and the foam holds them in securely.

i am using two airtanks.. brakes and retracts.. i have them in the engine bay one one each side.. perfect setup... i will try to send some pics later... going to fly today.....

I used the included large air tank and only had to remove perhaps 1/4 inch or less from the nose former to maneuver the tank into the nose. I then pushed in a chunk of foam to keep it from moving laterally - no problem.

I would like to ask everyone a question about the bypass. Where I live in Australia it is quite warm. Even in winter.
Do you think running a bypass could cause overheating of the engine? Maybe not so much during running, but after shutdown.
What woud be the negatives if I didn't run the bypass?
Maybe there would be too much pressure buildup in the fuselage causing failure of the airframe?
Would really appreciate any advice on this topic.

I would run the by pass, even in hot countries, any heat soak is kept in the carbon duct and not free to warm the fuse/wing surface. You will not have a strength problem with the Flash models...built proof.
Without the duct the wing would take most of the heat around the back edge.
Go with the stock set up, only thing I personally do is leave off the FOD as it covers up some of the opening, reducing the air around the turbine. I'm 5 years on my CF and 9 months on the UF without a problem.

I also left off FOD, but fitted wire-mesh screen across rear of intakes before fitting bypass.

DW, Much more progress on your UF with the P80SE? Eagerly waiting to hear how it went like everyone else im sure. I have my UF due anytime now in a customised scheme and colour, im looking at a Wren 100 for power. Having not seen a UF fly or flown one yet, im really looking for performance with a light set up though. i do think the 100 would be super economical without running wing tank ( i'd est 7 mins min flight time utilising taxi tank prior to take off). I guess time will tell to see if your new model has near the "vertical punch" the p120 powered setup has. I do want to be able to perform rolling loops, knife edge circles etc with confidence off the 22lbs+ pumped out the back.

Funny, just sat down in the workshop to do some work on it after a day entertaining a 5 year old, becoming 6 tomorrow. There is a jet meeting next weekend on grass and I thought I might try and find the time to finish it for that. If I get a clear couple of evenings around some contract writing I have to do, it will fly then. I have no doubt the 80/100 will provide good power and rolling loops will be no problem. Mine does huge rolling loops with the P-120 and climbs well in KE.
My Graupner Inspiration was fitted with the FOD in the inlet moulding and that worked well. Depends on the surfaces you use.
Trimming canopy glass right now and then will start the install
