When I bought mine it had a G26 on Cunningham ignition. I love my G26s and Ralphs are the best.. I hate to say it, but I took it off and installed a DLE20. It fit the cowl and had more power than the G26. Brian

Looks like Sig has a new version of the Rascal 110 due out soon. I'm looking for a good, fun float plane.
Does anyone know if the DLE 30 engine would be a good engine choice for this plane?

Brian,

I am also waiting for the new Rascal 110 and have both the G26ei and the DLE 20. You have flown yours with both of these engines and thought you might share with me your thoughts on which engine is the best choice for this plane. Thanks

Some people have been in contact with Sig and have been told it's coming. There's also an ad on page 102 of the current (Dec) Model Aviation magazine which confirms a new version with flaps.

I love Zenoah engines. It is hard for me to go against them. I bet I have had at least 20 over the years. if you have a G26 put it on the Rascal. I'm sure you'll love it. If you have to buy an engine, all I will say is the DLE 20 is a much better fit in the cowl and has a bit more power. Brian

The Sig website now shows the new MSRP for the Rascal 110 to be $549. I thought they might have some additional info once the new price was established but none so far. However, this is progress and it sure gets the juices flowing.

This is a link to the website http://www.sigmfg.com/cgi-bin/dpsmar...FV4.html?E+Sig. Then I go to Aircraft and then to ARF & ARC, then to Sport Aircraft and then click on the Rascal 110.

All I get at the Sig site is something to the effect that the 110 is no longer for sale.

Howard,

That link is no good. When I go to SIG's site I'm like the others. All I get is "Sorry, this item is no longer for sale"

Zippi,

I just tried that link again and it takes me directly to the page that you see in the attached file. I did it twice. Just in case I did not copy the link correctly here it is again http://www.sigmfg.com/cgi-bin/dpsmar...FV4.html?E+Sig. The picture of the gent standing with a Rascal 110, the two Sig stock numbers and the $549 price was captured using the 'Snipping Tool' in Windows 7. I wish I knew why I can uses the address and get there and others cannot. I will say that I saved this as a 'Favorite' many years ago and that I have two different links to get to Sig and they take me to two different places.

Edited comment: I just tried going to the link that I posted in the para above and it gave me an error saying "config not good" or something like that. Go figure. I have no idea why I can get there when launched from my "Favorites" but not otherwise. I am baffled. I have been watching very page for almost a month and it just changed from $399 to $549.

It's kinda bad that the link is no good after Sig put out a half page ad in the December issue of Model Aviation. I have my Rascal 110 on pre-order as of this morning. I had a 25% off gift certificate from Sig so I got my new Rascal 110 at about the same price my other one cost me. Kind of undecided on what 30-40cc gasser to put on it this time around.

Sounds good Zip. Wonder what the shipping charges will be? I paid $80 shipping for my last model from Tower. Almost kills the buying urge. Brian

hey Zippi. How are you doing? Been a while. You must miss your Rascal. I have not flown anything for over a year. I keep checking the Rascal and the batteries to make sure they are OK. Hate that SIG abandoned the old 110 with no support for parts. Hope the new Rascal fairs better.

It is going great. Busy but great. Between Fostering, CMA and Gardening there is not much free time. I do miss flying. I have to get my act together and get back to it again.
