RE: KingTech K-80
Please send me the K80F manual if you don't mind. My manual says K80, 140 170E/F, I want to see if I have the same thing you have. Thanks!

Tony, that's the E model, not the F. the E model is on Kingtech USA's site as well. for the F (kero start) all the information to safely and successfully set it up and run it is here in this thread.

You can also use a Halon extinguisher. I have a 5 pound one. They are more expensive to fill about $150.00 for 5 pounds.

RE: KingTech K-80
Hey guys,
Seems like after landing my turbine is surging eg idle rpm up to 50k down to 38k. Even on taxi day seems at times like rpm briefly drops to 38-40k.
in flight fine no problems, if got a k80f with flight works fuel pump which came with the kit. Any thoughts?
I'm in around 8 hours run time, never had flame out and this has just started.
Any help appreciated

Ausfester,
First I would check the filter to make sure it is clean. Any restriction could cause something like this.
Second Are you using a UAT with the filter bag in it? If so check the Filter bag to be sure it is not dirty. If so change the bag out.
Third Did you change anything on the fuel system set up in your jet for example did you change a fuel tank out or change some fuel line? If so you will need to let the ECU relearn the idle. To do this fill the fuel system full. DISCONNECT the overflow/taxi tank, start the engine and let it idle for about 5 minutes until the PW on the Data terminal is steady and the Idle is steady.
If nothing I mentioned above is a factor then go ahead and relearn the idle.
I am sure Barry or Dirk from www.Kingtechusa.com will post some other suggestions that I may have missed.
Hope this helps

Hey Barry....
There is a thread about Obama making the military burn bio fuel. While reading over that... a light went off in my head. so....
Has KingTech tried bio-diesel in their engines yet? The real reason I'm asking is because there is a lot of talk about "Healthy" oils in our model jet fuel... and biodiesel has a very high lubricating index. So high in fact... you may be able to run it without any added oil. (just a thought)
Here's a PDF on where they are adding it back to regular diesel to act as a lube.

Not sure what buzzer sound you are referring to sounds like, but if it's buzzing, then something may be loose, not likely the turbine though, perhaps you want to check the pipe and its surroundings, let's say a spot welding is missing and at a certain frequency range a buzzing may then be amplified.

RE: KingTech K-80
the engine is new, i send it back to the factory for check up and still has that sound, I m trying to understand what causes the sound because it gives the impression that the engine trys to suck more air and cant do it, or the pressurised air doesnt have smooth flow,i dont know if its the sound of kingtech or its just a problem
