Sorry to hijack the thread, but what about this body Giorgos?
When did you make that and is there a thread on it?
Haven't seen it before [&:]
Looks good though.

C.lyra,on a further notice, when you feel like that,"get this over with" stop!Stop working on the car altogether.Forget it,put it in the shed and dont think about it again.
If you work on the body when you feel "i dont want any more of this,i got to finish now!" only bad will come out of it.You are going to take shortcuts and generally do things that aren't well thought moves and it will lead to more work.
At least, that's what i do.It will come the time, that you will want to work on the body and spend hours on a minor detail without being angry about it.In simple words "dont work on a project when you are burned out by it and it's no longer fun"
I hope i helped mate
Hey DVP...I've been away from the forum for a while and away from building all together...No more money to build rcs when you got to support 3000$ worth of helicopters and a 5b
The body is a Toyota Supra with Castrol's sideskirts and wheel arches and my own design front and rear bumper.I'm making it for the 5b.Work has stopped now due to weather, but it's nearly finished. That was the hardest work i ever did!!Mine is made completely by hand.Shaped from a block of foam.It doesn't have wooden "drivers" like C.lyra's.
There isn't a thread about it on rcu.I wanted to finish with it first and then post.I already 1 or 2 unfinished projects here on rcu, dont want to add another one.Although the progress of the body is in another forum....

That's why I have so many projects on the go at the same time.
Do a bit here and a bit there.

It's looking good.
PM me link to the "Other forum" if you don't want to post it here, please?
I am interested in the process of making a body as I'm going to attempt it one day for one of my (many) projects

Hey all.. Now it is time for a update... The project has been on standby for some time, but i started again today... The body has been cut in half, because it was too narrow, and glued to a plate on my jig. Now it is 410 mm wide.
Need to cut the foam, when it dryes, finnish the front , and then it is off to the paintshop...

Sure thing... I found a 3D model on google sketchup(they are free), (you can buy models on http://www.turbosquid.com or http://www.flatpyramid.com)
Then i got some help from a dude here on rcuni.(I can ask him about help on you projekt for you, if you like??), he made all the slices of the car, and he transformed the slices into PDF files. I have a free program called posterrazor, where you can print big posters on A4 paper. Glue them all together and then you have the slices/poster in the size you like. Then i cut them all out in MDF wood( not real wood, but easy to work with) Then they are all lined up and that is it...

that would be fantastic! What do you mean when you say A4 paper? like copy paper? also what do you mean by glue them together? Also i have worked with MDF multiple times before for sub boxes so i am familiar with the wood. So once oyu have the slices but and inpostiobn you shoot in expanding foam, then you car it to the shape, but how do you do the details like the lights and edges of the window? is that free hand with modeling clay layed on and carved away?

Yes i mean copy paper, the posterrazor program is made so you can make a poster from many pieces of copy paper( some of them has only a small line and others have a lot of lines) Then you line them up( i made 10mm overlap on all sides), they all create the template and can be glued together.
I made two holes in all the mdf slices, and then i put a 10 mm tube in the holes, so they line up perfect. And i put pieces of mdf in between the slices to make a little gap.. All the details is made in acrylic filler and in free hand....
Hope you can use this..

[QUOTE=Lars from Norway;11627990]I like this! I was thinking of maybe going something close to the same route with the front suspension on my Escort, but i didn't bother to be honest. [/QUOTE
