RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
Made some trailing link legs for the main gear to replace the wire legs.
I wanted them to be in a straight line when unloaded so they fitted the wheel wells without having to hack into the wing to give clearance like some of the commercial legs.
Took a bit of head scratching but eventually with an offset upper spring attachment I managed to get the geometry right.
They are very simple to make from from 10mm alum rod, now I have it figured out!
Had four flights with them yesterday and they work really well, spring tension seems just right.
Wheels shown were a temp fit, have new slightly larger ones coming with a harder tyre, these just about got through yesterdays flying!

I like the trailing link legs!
A very cunning way of keeping the wheels in a line, and not a lot of difficult machining.
What retract units are you using BTW??

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
I have 2 Falcon 120'S bought 4 or more years ago and all built and flown many times on a Wren 54, One bought about 2 years ago and still in the box. Because I am curious I just bought a 3rd one from Hobby King in the UK delivered for £130 The 3rd most recent one is ok but it is no where as good as my earlier ones. The fus is much thinner and not finished as well. Ok for the price and given that they now want £480 for the Tornado I think the Falcon is better value.

Hobby King's stock of Falcon 120s did not last long. Two or three days??
They are no longer on the site.
They can be cheap because they are for propellers, and fixed gear. The description included the words "prop" & "for glow 120" and we all know you can get a 120 two-stroke pretty cheap.

RE: Bob Cat Copy Falcon 120 Jet
I am finely getting around to putting my NP Falcon 120 togeather. I bought it several years ago and picked up a PST 600R Turbine this spring at a swap meet.. I was glad to find that it only has 46 min run time on it.
We had a jet rally at our field this last week with 56 pilots regestered and I got a lot of good advice several there either had a Falcon or use to have one. Everone spoke highly of them. One problem I found to day is the wings do not fit. The left one is ok with a small space at the rear where the wings mates with the fuse., but the right one lacks 1/2 inch. The problem must be in the wing tube where it is glued into the wing. It would be easy to slot the hole in the fuse., but that would just make the left wing not to fit. Has anyone else had this problem? The only options I have come up with is to open up the wing and try to cut the tube out and re-aling it. Another option is to bend the wing tube to fit, this would be the easiest. But that sound like bailing wire and duck tape.

Trying to upload a pic of the HK Falcon. I had one before from Ausjets about 3 years ago and this one seems exactly the same quality or lack of as the first one I had. I am sure it will be as good a performer as the earlier one

grab the formers and give them a wiggle and see if they snap out, if you can spread apart the boom sides and the captive nut blocks fall out then they must be using the same flour & water mix

Oh yeah its the same flour/water glue alright just saying its seems to me the HK version is just as good as the older version I have. We have half a dozen at the club now and all seem exactly the same and when beefed up are great fliers

I agree, i received mine not long ago from HK Aus warehouse and it is no better than a peice of junk.
Fuse was rippled and unfinished, rear section was puttied up to cover up gaps and it goes on.
I was planning on glassing the wings and a nice paint job but i don't think i'll bother.
A friend of mine has one not from HK and it is a world of difference in quality.
