yeeeeeup....still here, and the stang is still flying.
It is a fantastic plane because it flys like a trainer.

It is a KS spinner from germany....the guys that also make exhaust systems
https://www.krumscheid-metallwaren.d...op.php?lang=EN

you also need a spinner adapter nut on the accesories page.....if you decide to order.

It`s a perfect fit......but they are not cheap.

There are chinese alu spinners that almost fit, but a just a hair too small........if you are realy nit-picking......but they are way cheaper.

I have been using a 16/8 since I broke my last 16/10.......it has slightly better vetical performance.

I have bought the new NGH 38cc gas 4 stoke, and hope to try in out in the stang.
It is not that much larger than the ASP 180FS. But I need a muffler solution for it first.

pics of the engine here compered to the 180FS

Found a 140 size CMP P-51 local a couple of months back that only had a couple of flight days before being retired, purchase it with no motor and fixed gear, I have put e retracts on and 4'' wheels, discovered a spare spinner from a CMP P 40 is the right size and close to scale looks so will use it though I will make a FG copy of the spinner, here is the build so far with an e motor installed, a battery hatch made and battery tray installed, a sunken cockpit and a FMS cockpit kit fitted from a P-51, some minor details and painting to do but getting close for a maiden

Yes lucky to find it and only a 20min drive from me, been looking a couple of years for this one

Forgot to post a pic of the cockpit kit, got this from banggood, got the battery hatch finished, added a couple of plywood ends, a couple of locating pins and a quick release it works well, then added some glass to give it some stiffness, got it to the field today for some taxi testing, all went well nothing fell off and it steers straight no sup prizes, will be a week before the maiden as bad weather forcast

Limodune,

What spinner did you put on that plane? It looks like it fit pretty good.

It came with my CMP p40 that I recently found, making up a FG mold from the spinner at present, the new FG spinner will be about a 1/3 of the weight of the plastic one and if I damage it I can make a replacement

Thanks, MIke.

I stopped working on this plane years ago when the fiberglass bubbled, but have been thinking about starting it up again. It's pretty difficult to find a metal parabolic spinner that is 4-11/16" (119mm).

Gave the Mustang a lick of red paint and a little bit more detail to make it look like the plane it is supposed to represent, just needs an aerial to finish

Got some more flight's is in with the Mustang it flies great and also some more detailing
Managed to find a canopy to replace the cloudy one, while it was off I gave the pilot some paint and the cockpit more detail, also added some staining to the exhaust and guns, I have got some dogleg struts to fit then I can finish off by adding the gear doors

That looks great. Nice job making the colors correct to the actual plane. That canopy looks far better than the one that came with the plane. The shape of the canopy frame is more correct. Where did you find that/what kit did that come from?

Got it local a couple of hours from me in Aus, would not have a clue what plane it is from, they just give measurements, there's two about the same size, I picked the one with no raised frame, you make-paint your own

This is the one I ordered
P 51 Mustang D ------M130 L370 H97

Moulds in stock

That looks great. It looks like you've kept it light...I bet it will fly well. Mine is too heavy.

A little bit more scale added to the Mustang

Some months back I thought of changing the location of the tail wheel to a more scale forward location, so after looking for something suitable I came across a retracting unit that looked light (I hate weight at the back of a plane) so I thought I would get one and take a look

It's not that heavy so now It's fitted and working, to compensate for the extra weight I moved the life 6v 1500 flight pack a few inches forward to get the C of G back
