RE: FEJ F-14 VF32
hey Wap, do you remember what your wet weight was on your old one? I know you didnt have the any of the options on it but I am sure mine would only be about 5 pounds heaver with my current options. I'm trying to decide on turbines, I try not to add wasted thrust and and kill flight time. If I can put all the tanks and pylons on mine with two 140s that would make my day. Thats 60-64 lbs of thrust and should be plenty

Hmmmm.... let's see, I can go straight into an unlimited vertical from take off with 2 gallons of fuel with 2 P-140s and have a comfortable 6m 30s flight. The only difference between our planes is you have LE slats which inconsequential from a weight standpoint. If you put pylons and tanks on your Tomcat, weight isn't the issue, drag is.

Yes I know, but the more weight you have the more thrust required as well and since I cannot compute drag on something like this I only care about the weight.

Also, I want to talk about the new F14.....it is a true 1/6 scale that should give a length of about 124". It will have all scale detailing including full spoilers, split flap (if you like) so you can use ailerons. It will also have new gear that will be scale as well. As with the other 2 we have, it will have the speed brakes, opening canopy and all the other options the others do. This will be a scale bird...complete!!! Can't wait.

wap/Fender:
I have two Behotec 165 in my F14 here, but it is way too much power. I think 140 size engines will be good enough.
I am going to move the current two JB165 to the bigger F14 when it is ready.
Thanks
James

I should say I am so lucky to still have my F14. See photos.
After took off, one engine sucked too much grass to get fire and flame out. Ali still brought it down with one engine safely. Thanks Ali did a great job.

RE: FEJ F-14 VF32
James, that was a remarkable job Ali did. I was glad I was there to see it. How many twins can loose an engine right after take off and make it all the way around to the runway. This was right after breaking ground!! Great airframe to do this with and the single 165 was enough to fly it back with ease. Receiver was burned, airlines were burned, servo wires were burned and it still made it! Thanks again Ali....once again you have done wonders with your talent.
Don't forget James, we need one on the west coast too!!

Warren, I'm sure there is a lot of video. It was during the noon time show and all the cameras were on. Scott from SKS will have it I'm sure.
Fender, don't have the weight yet but It will be light with the honeycomb and carbon fiber. Sorry for all the new products!
