RE: Hangar 9 60cc Corsair
I just got my 77cc radial and will bench run for break in till the Corsair gets here I am told in August( Hope to fly on a 3 blade. looks like it fly's scale + on their Demo video. I do have a G62 in a P-47 TF and it flies great at + scale speed, have fun.

I sure wish this would hit the street, I have a DLE 55 and an DLE 85 I will be using one or the other for this ship, we will see how it goes. I am hoping the 85 will work.

I have a set of Robarts 150's that will be coming out of a TF P40, will these work as the mains, and will the Tail Wheel from the P40 also work?
Also will have a G62 for power, assume this ill fit and fly plane OK.
Thanks H9 for the answers to be.

Does any one know if one of the 3 that H9 has flying has a G62 in it? if so it would be nice to know how the CG came out with that motor in it? mine will definitely have a Gas eng in it, just want to keep from adding much dead weight to it if possible I know it may require some but would rather have that added weight in an eng rather than lead.

Any of you Warbird specialists know what size (diameter) three bladed prop would be close to scale on this thing? I'm thinking it's probably going to be about 24''????

More like 27 inches, although I guess 24" could be considered "close to scale".

Thanks I wonder if there is any way of finding out from Any one at Horizon if they had to add any nose weight when setting up that one with the G62? Would any one know if there is a way to find that information out?

If 24" 3 blade is the scale size prop, then this baby will need DLE 85.
I'm waiting to receive mine from Tower, $475 with Tower discount and free shipping.
Hard to beat that price and power.
Motor should weigh just a pound more than DA 50 if it's like the DA 85.
That's only 4 lbs, not far off from G62 motor weight but lots more power and swings a bigger prop.

Yes, nose weight is required with the G62, but I don't know how much. Both Bill and Mike flew them at Joe Nall with G62s so either of them should be able to help here. The ZP62 is lighter than the G62, so keep in mind if you go that route it will require even more weight.

Well I down loaded the manual and here is what it said in the CG section of the manual ( Quote: The model as shown in the manual
using a Zenoahâ„¢ G-62 engine requires 24.0 oz (680 grams) of ballasts for balance. )

RE: Hangar 9 60cc Corsair
Hi All.
Well, looks as if this thread is going to get big.............!!!
I too have placed my order here in the UK for the Corsair, but not sure when it will be arriving,I have been told that it will be in "limited" numbers here in the UK.........not sure why that is !!!
I received my 7-77 a couple of weeks back and have started the "running-in" process...........so far 2hours running.
I could not find any suitable fuel to use and could not purchase any "methanol" to blend myself.........I contacted the CEO "Andy" at OPTIFUEL ( I use this brand of fuel on all my IC's..non-petro ),must say what a great company and customer service they provide.I placed an order with them for the fuel mixes as per Evolution's specs and within a week,I received all the fuel blends that are required for "running-in" and flying........using straight and nitro.OPTIFUEL use "Koltz" oil in their blends.
Starting the radial was bit of a problem ( my own making !!! ).........I never use an electric starter on my radials, always hand-swing !!! I chose to use the McDaniel ( Sonic-Tronics) on board glow system, again great customer service from McDaniel in the US.
The problem that I made for myself was not to set the throttle open enough to get the engine to run ( not enough air was getting in with the rich fuel mixture),I would prime/choke the radial, swing it..started for a few revolutions, then stopped !!! I also set up the on-board glow slightly differently to the instructions..........but that worked fine,a very clever on-board glow system !!!
All in all,I must say that I am very pleased with the radial,it appears to have plenty of power,I have been riunning on a 22" x 10 2BL,but have now switched to the Solo 3BL set up,will be running that from now on as this is the set up I would like to use in the Corsair.
The sound it makes is awesome............and because the 7-77 will be running on less oil content than the OS / Saito / ASP radials, the "mess" will be alot less if hardly any atall !!!
This is a photo of the 7-77 on it's test stand
Regards..............Nick (UK).

Nick. Looks good. I expect quantities will be very limited here in Australia too, and we will have to wait a good while for them to reach us. I'm not expecting mine till Xmas at the earliest. Oh we'll, more time for saving $ for all the parts that don't come with the plane. Sean

Hi Sean.
Yes,I guess that we will have to wait and see how long these ARF's take to filter through !!! I have ordered everything for the Corsair ( luckily,I have also paid for it already as I had some £'s saved up ).I have received the optional lighting items, but these are a std item from E-flite.........have set them up and they work great, very bright too !!!
Kind regards...........Nick

Hi Nick. I plan to install the lighting as well. Might be able to tell which side is which!! At this stage, I'm going with the Saito FG-57, but that's not set in concrete yet. Cheers. Sean
