spring starters
I have a us 41 engine with electronic ignition on a one third scale cub. I have three different heavy duty starters an none of them will turn it over enough to statr it. I have two other gas motors a 35 and a 41 with spring starters which i like very much. no hassle no worry just pull the prop back and let it go. I was wondering if it would make sense to put a spring starter on this engine I do not like flip starting a 20 inch prop.I am not concerned about the little weight the spring will add. I was wondering if the guys at the field would look at me a little funny. p.s. i dont like flipping a gas prop. any thoughts on this will be appreciated. Thank you

RE: spring starters
If you have an electronic ignition such as a CH Ignition then a spring starter is dead weight. High idle, choke and ignition on, flip the prop until it pops, choke off and flip until it starts. If you have the stock CDI unit then yes a spring starter would be your best bet
