pipes will go out thebottom of the cowl , not scale, but will look ok thatt and external flap links are the only scale deviation. yes i modded the tips and the rudder shape to accurate scale

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair
Here is what I came up with for the switches ,charge jacks , air fill and pressure gage.I decided to use two access ports that were on the corsair .I am having to use two of them for room but at leased it will look like it belongs .I had to move them closer to the cockpit to clear the former but its not too noticeable .I havent cut out for the charge jacks yet for i dont have them .
I am thinking of putting the gas filler in the third access port but am not comfortable doing that due to gas spills what do yall think ?

cimara,
Looks good to me. Are you going to back up the balsa sheeting on the inside around where your boxes are going to give it extra strength in case you push on things a little to hard?

Gibbs i was planning on using some carbon fiber strips .The boxs will be glued to the 1/4 balsa stringers and the balsa sheething .Its going to be tight though but i think it will work. also finnshed cutting the tail doors out and iam waiting on little piano hinges to arrive

Hey ...NCIS
Perhaps you should start a build thread........
I may want to go in on that kit, but not until flyingseason is over......
I have 5-planes to finish and maiden yet... 3-are giant scale..
Will have time in winter though.... I am finishing my basement as well.....and the rest is spent with wife and 2-year old son...
I was wondering how far along the guy building the TF giant Corsair with the saito 450 radial is comming along????
I would love to see some video with that engine ripping a low level pass on the deck, at show speed!!

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair
ag4ever,
I have a thread for the build on this Forum. You must have missed it. I'm still waiting for the plans and kit to get back from Laser Cut USA in Florida. Then the build will begin. Well not right away. I want to look over the plans very closely and start labeling the parts. After I get it I will start when everything is set and I have a plan of attack. I do know I'm building the Fuselage first because Don told me to get it built first and then the wing. The tailfeathers are part of the fuse so they will be built when needed. I hate having them laying around to get damaged anyway.
